This is a review for just the clearing booklet (this product) and is entirely separate from my earlier review of the role-playing system that Root uses.If you are serious about running Root then this book is nearly a necessity.The book comes with four clearings detailed with great care and containing all the information that you would need to run them in Root.The clearings are all different, but they come in a common format that includes the backstory, principal non-player characters, hooks for the player characters, and descriptions of what happens if the player characters take no action.The prose is easy to understand, and the book is nicely laid out.If you are the gamemaster for a Root game then I highly recommend this supplement.

ROOT is already one of my favorite (if not my top favorite) PBtA game. This supplement adds some amazing new factions (some of which I find more interesting than the base ones!), faction moves, equipment, and my personal favorite- advice for running all of the factions! Also comes with two great little adventures at the back.Only real complaint is the layout and information formatting is not always the most convenient- finding a rule on the fly at the table won't be super easy unless you're very familiar with it.Very much recommend, and came in great shape especially due to the plastic shrink wrapping and hard cover.

The books are awesome, they look amazing and the cards are really helpful. Set up might take awhile the first time you go to play but, 2-3 games in and you will fly straight into session. I would give 5-stars but, the binding is a little weak. Just handle the book with a little care and it will hold up for years to come.

The screen is a bit smaller then I thought, which I didn’t care about in the slightest. As someone who has never ran their own table top rpg, all the information this screen has on hand has been immensely useful. In my opinion, if you’re going to run this game this is a must buy for your first time.

This was not at all what I thought it was goin to be , it is much better. The book gives you details for four clearings, npcs, conflict, everything you need to run the RPG as a one-shot or as part of a campaign. I would love more of these.

I'll be happy with this beautiful book on my shelf!

This product is way smaller than you might think. It's quite disappointing. It's about half the size of other DM screens with about twice the information. No adult human would be able to read this sitting at a table. Don't buy.
