Title sums it up. The issue with batteries like this often comes down to factors beyond the brand reputation (which Renata is fantastic). The main variable is the seller/the seller's stock, which can be nice and fresh...or old, improperly stored, and outright counterfeit.) Which is why you see such mixed reviews on batteries like this, and the reason I'm mentioning the product and seller name: The SR44W 2 pack, sold by Galtex, shipped by Amazon.) The expiration date for these was still more than 2 years away (02/2028), the voltage out of the package read as expected, and they functioned in the device as expected. Of course reading the voltage of a cell with no load doesn't do a great job of showing remaining capacity, especially with silver oxide's voltage stability, but it's a positive sign nonetheless.

No variance in tested voltage across batteries—obviously quality control is good. Very long lasting with good shelf life. Batteries in general have become a commodity and inexpensive, but high variance in output voltage, stored energy and longevity is now common. These batteries are not as inexpensive as others, but are higher quality, more uniform and overall worth the slightly higher cost.
