At Danner, they are craftsmen. They pay attention to details. They forgo quantity for quality, with the knowledge that the boots they craft are no better than the hands that create them.

Danner boots-The only choice
This is my third pair of Danner's in the past eight years. My first pair were the Danner 8" Striker GTX which they quit making. They were a great boot and lasted a long time.My second pair were the Danner Kinetic 8", which the salesman at the store told me were the waterproof model (they weren't), but they have still been an excellent boot. I am still wearing this pair everyday for patrol, but now that fall has come and I am looking at taking a job in the mountains where it gets much colder, I wanted to get an insulated boot.I purchased the Danner Striker Torrent 8" w/400g Thinsulate. I was worried they would not fit the same as my Kinetics due to the added thickness of the Thinsulate. When they arrived and I tried them on, they fit more snug than my Kinetics so I ordered a pair in the extra wide model as well. I tried both on and the extra wide model allows my foot too much room to move around in the boot. I kept the original pair I ordered and believe after I start wearing them and break them in some, they should fit just fine. (I should also note that my Kinetics did not have a "break-in" time at all and were great straight out of the box, other than the laces, which I bought new laces at the same time I purchased the boots). They do not fit so tight as to make them uncomfortable, just a little more snug than my non-insulated boots fit. I am sure they will be just fine, and are just a tad bit of a different fit due to the insulation.I have worn the other brands of boots, Magnums, Bates, Wolverine and Rocky's. None of them fit as good or last near as long as a set of Danner's. They are the best boot and the best choice for me.

Best boots I've ever owned.
Data First: I typically wear a 13 regular. My feet are a little wide, but not so much that I ever buy 13 wides. I did here based on other reviews, and I'm glad I did. They fit snug as a bug in a rug.I bought these on the idea that I wanted some RAT boots because "If it's good enough for the Marine Corps, it's good enough for me.". That being said, I wanted them in black so it doesn't look like I'm wearing combat boots everywhere. They're comfortable, provide great support, are warm, but breathe well enough that your feet don't sweat, and are constructed beautifully. I'm confident if I stepped on a landmine, the boots would be the only thing left.Today, they faced their real trial by fire: a sleety winter day in Chicago. 4 hours in several inches of snow/sleet mix, slushy puddles 4-5 inches deep, and generally wet and cold. As I'm writing this review the ONLY part of me that is dry are my feet. The traction is pretty good, which is important since I'm as graceful as a baby deer on ice. They're expensive, but they do their job exceptionally well, and I'm confident they'll last long enough to pay for themselves several times over.

Excellent boots!
I own a pair of 8 kenetic Danner w zipper and they are very good and comfortable boots but I recently bought a new pair of Danner Striker Torrent 8-Inch and by far the Danner Striker Torrent is the most comfortable boot I've EVER owned. I highly recommend this to anyone who is working on concrete or standing all day. I didn't even need a break in period and they take a polish very well.Excellent job Danner!

Great winter boot!
As an EMT I wear boots for several long shifts each week. On cold and snowy days, my feet would freeze even with 2 pairs of socks on. With these Danner boots, I have been able to walk through deep snow, in frozen puddles, and even stand a small creek without getting my feet wet or cold. The boots didn't require any break in time and fit perfectly.

Great winter boot!
Great boots! I'd recommend them for sure. Western Ny in January- I've worn these boots for both foot patrol outdoors and patrol in vehicle and been very happy. This is the third brand of boots I've had in 9 years, and so far my favorite.. I've tried 5.11 which were junk imo... Then several pairs of BATES Durashocks and GX-8 boots rotated between summer and winter....I tried the danners because I wasn't happy with the quality of the BATES Boots. So far, The construction quality of the danners is better then the others imo and they are miore comfortable. The 400g of insulation is perfect for me for the snow. No issues with cold during 12hr patrols in the snow. The boots seem a bit higher in the ankle then the BATES which I like because they keep the snow out better.Weight: They are really light, and are lighter then I expected with the extra insulation, I wear them 12 hrs at a time and no problems.Do they cost more then other brands of boots? Yes. Are they a much better boot? Yes. I'm very happy. If you work in the snow and cold and want to have warm, dry feet, and a high quality boot... Buy these boots!

Worth every cent.
I love Danner boots. This is my second pair and I couldn't be happier. My only suggestion is to buy one size wider than you normally wear, especially if you are in between sizes. I am just above a D and I have to buy EE and they are still *just* wide enough.

I had to return these boots. They looked OK but I bought them for my grandson and although the foot section fit him fine he could not lace up the front at all. They need to make them with a folding cuff in the front to accept a larger calf.

Still a good boot and has been warm
The toe tapers which is unlike some discontinued models I use to purchase that had a more rounded toe. I ordered a size 14 so I was expecting Danner to accommodate a man's foot. Still a good boot and has been warm. A bit bulky above the ankle, but that may be due to the thinsulate.

The boots are perfect but they were about 1/2 size tighter fit than the Acadia's.

These are amazing. Sneakers on the inside, tactical boots on the outside. Perfectly warm with harsh Canadian winter conditions.
