I wanted a jar that I could put my sourdough starter in. My husband and daughter made some for me, and I didn't have the heart to throw out the discard so I had several small jars around the kitchen. I wanted a big enough jar that I could put all of them together and keep it sealed, but also wanted a jar that had a wide mouth, and was big enough to keep a lot of it. This jar fit the bill amazingly. I poured all of my sourdough in it, fed it, and it was amazing. I could fit my arm down into it, if I wanted to. I love the wide lid and the capacity of the jar.

I bought these in the hopes they would seal tight enough to store my home made laundry detergent mixture. They work great, the seal is holding up and the clasp opens and closes great. I would highly recommend.

We put our raw milk in these jars because the extra wide opening is the perfect size for skimming off the cream with a ladle. We let our milk sit in the fridge for 24 hours, to separate, before we start to skim the cream off the top. I’m sure you can use it for other things, but because there’s a rubber gasket, these work really well for liquids.

Update: Customer service contacted me and they sent replacement jars. Lids so far look like they are not going to break. Will update when they get used for a while.Lid broke first time clamping. Glass shards broke off of lip under clamp the very first time clamping them down.Huge and easy to clean. Got this to store raw milk in for a herd share instead of using 2 half gallon jars.Have not had a chance to try it as the cows were dry until recently.

Came well packed. Short of a tractor running over the box these jars are not going to break in transit!
