Seems to take out limescale 100%. No residue seen in my kettle. I use a British berkey for every other contaminant but just doesn't filter limescale so bought this as it was a economical soln. For limescale it seems to filter it completely. As I've have used it for a month and there is no limescale residue. Can't really say if it is as effective for anything else as I have no means to test it..and I have the Berkey for tht. Easy to use, good size, looks great.

Beats Britta hands down! I think this filter jug is far superior to the Britta jug I had before. It is larger well made you can fill it straight from the tap as it has a large filling cover, unlike the previous jug which the appature was so small. I also found that after a similar time in use unlike before I have no scale in my kettle. The filters are far superior. I would recommend this jug and cannot see myself returning to other filter jugs. I will say though as the capacity is a lot more than a Britta, when full they are quite heavy. But I'd rather live with that for a better quality of filtered water.

Only used a little while, good large capacity & large opening top, getting used to taste of water compared to old filter used, also purchased spare magnesium free filters which have not used yet & wait & see its taste, purchased as heard filter micro plastics but not mentioned on the box, family not happy jug is plastic but said to them it's made from approved plastic and also alternative glass jugs looked at were all thin glass & biggest drawback being the interior shelf to accommodate the filter and the filter itself are all made of plastic so defeats purpose of avoiding anything made of plastic! May also purchase smaller jug filter in the summer which be easier to handle & place inside fridge shelf in warmer weather when cool water would be ideal.

This jug is amazing!! It easy to use and looks good too. The filters are easy to change. Can definitely taste the difference in the quality of the water. I can't go back to tap water again.

This works. We always had lovely water until 3 months ago then it changed & we got thick scum on our tea. Thanks, Severn Trent!! This filter jug has restored our tea to delicious & our white china mugs to pristine. It works & has a large capacity. I like the filter replacement indicator.

Filtration is not strong but satisfactory

I chose this for its elegant shape compared to the fridge ones. Also because of the amount of filtered water it will hold. OK, you need to fill the reservoir twice to fill the jug for the dinner table, but that’s fine with me. The jug can be quite heavy when full, so may not suit elderly or young children. It hurts my husbands arthritic thumb. No batteries in the indicator is a plus for me, let’s reduce electronic absurdities we don’t need! I chose the A5 version for the longer capacity A5 filter, but not sure whether that was sensible as there are no refills available for the A5, so it will be thrown away - so may have misjudged that in my quest to reduce plastic use. I will have to find out if it is recyclable. Hope so. The indicator works when the lid is opened, and so far in one day it has dropped considerably, so we will see if it lasts as long as claimed. We drink a lot of tea and water in this house. Overall pleased with the filter jug, and that a company is addressing plastic use by extending filter life.
