Funky veggie steamer
I don't want to say anything so nice about this as to drive the price back up, but for this discounted range it's a pretty solid, talkey, musical vegetable steamer. If you have a rice cooker this makes no sense due to its increased cooking time, but so far for making steamed rolls it's excellent, for reheating steamed rolls it's excellent; my zojirushi induction 3-cup non-pressure probably takes a little less time than this; my 1gal no-name induction pressure rice cooker takes far less time; zojirushi's fuzzy logic is so magical I've only hit "cook" no matter what I throw in, and adding vegetables with rice doesn't disappoint -- but it's still boiled vegetables. There's no way I'd buy this at its original price, but even knowing I'll have to cook the rice separately (pretty sure I have one circuit in my entire house) the current price for a steamer that can steam from above or below, and disperses steam from below much better than over boiling water, is a bargain. It's as about an heirloom kitchen appliance as they come (kitchenaid mixers last as long as 15 minutes so this thing is comparitively bulletproof) and it has a totally unnecessary james bond ejection button that chimes in crisp polyphony.I start out making croissants, I end up with a brick. I used my brick recipe for steamed buns and they came out marshmallows. If you dig rolls that melt in your hand, that alone is why you need to buy this. And if you have an induction cooker at any size or brand, the current price of this is pocket change. Not to me, put probably to you.I agree about complaints on marketing -- this is a steamer. Period. Not "only useful as a steamer" -- it's a steamer. "IH 3D heating technology" is literally curved steel bowl plus lid technology. Small zojirushis have induction prongs that hit the sides of its curved steel bowl. This thing has a curved steel bowl. Curved steel bowls are a fantastic invention, but I wouldn't lead with that on my CV.

Doesn't Cook Beans
This does not work like a pressure cooker. It adds a lot of water to whatever your making.Good for rice, steaming, boiled dinners, and soups. Thats about it.

Very complex and spacious
I guess for the size of the actual pot it occupies way too much space in the kitchen. My grandmother found it hard to use it. I will need to sit through the instructions with her so she can learn.

Different
This was a little different than I thought it would be. I got it for my daughter and I think she will use it mostly for steaming veggies to make baby food. That function works great. It may take a little time to get the hang of everything but it was worth the money.
