Very handy to have a spare
This ring will fit most makers speedrings. I used this one to replace the Elinchrome part on an existing softbox and it is just like the photogenic ring they sell for 40 bucks but I only paid 10. A bargain!

Close to a photogenic mount but not quite
The profile of the mount is very close to a photogenic but not quite, instead of a flat back flange where the clips on the strobe catch on these use a rounded edge which allows the flange to push the clips out of the way and come off pretty easily. I ended up machining two flats on the flange to give a place for the clips to latch in to. It works and for the prices I really cant complain, but if you expect to hold a softbox from above it will probably fall off.
