This is a fascinating book, and gives credit where credit is due: to the strength of Joan Irvine to get things done. I only wish her picture had been included on the front cover. A must read for anyone who has ever lived or worked in Irvine.

Nicely detailed. I got a good sense of the people, the egos, and the commitment of the folks who made Irvine into the well-planned city it is today. A must read for those interested in the housing development of Orange county.
