A review over a year later-because it's worth reviewing!
Back when I bought this, I thought "welp I might be throwing money away if this doesn't work," but at the time I just needed better tools to get my hips to release when they are angry. I came back to review bc it is so good and I use it all the time.Yesterday my lower back was tight and also pulling down on my ribcage, even though I had done som extensive stretching during an hour of yoga. I knew my hips were the culprit but hip stretches weren't enough so I took a few minutes on the hip fin---it hurts so good when you most need to use it, and you know you are going to feel relief so you breathe through it. The immediate improvement after about 5 minutes (total, used in both directions on both hips), made me think "hmmm did I ever review this thing? bc it turned out to be a lifesaver." And that's how I dug up this order so I could let folks know that this tool is worth every penny. It is super sturdy plastic with coating over the points, and it does the deep dive to reach the psoas and iliacis that you normally need a pro massage therapist to get to. It comes with instructions but it's also pretty intuitive. If you sit a lot, if you are a runner or a lifter.....pretty much if you are a human whose hinges get a little too tight sometimes, this will improve your well-being. You should probably use it everyday, but I admittedly remember to use it when I feel tightness in my hips.

Seemed to help after one use
Weird to use at first... had to watch the video a couple of times and it took some trial and error but I do actually think it significantly helped release some hip tightness I've had for a long time after just one use. Going to keep it to use as needed. I would recommend but just be careful not to hurt yourself while using it, as the instructions aren't 100% clear. Had to google exactly where the muscles I was targeting were located.

Holy Moly! This thing is great!
Works really well. Hurts like a mf when I first used it, but I knew it would. I’ve been struggling with hip flexor issues for about 3 months. After massage it would be better for a day or 2. I felt some instant relief, but after a long time of pain I expect to have to use this regularly for a few weeks. If you are having pain and are waffling due to the price, just get it. It is less than a massage, and you can use it more often.

Not sure if I’m doing it right
I didn’t feel instant relief like others but I think it helped, tbh, not really sure. I used the instruction book and looked up online on several different websites to try to figure out if I was doing it right. I don’t want to give a bad review if it’s user error. But I also think they can provide better instructions on usage.

Just awkward, if you have pain like I do, you can’t use it. I would not buy again.

Too large and caused bruising
Wish there were sizes. This was too large that I have a hard time targeting the right muscles. Very awkward also, as the rubber on top tends to prevent it from slipping into the inner curve of the iliac. After 3 tries, I just developed a bruise after noticing how tender the area had become. I have better results using the Wahls massager (ball shaped attachment).

Worked super fast, relieved hip pain
I'd been experiencing pretty bad hip pain, especially when squatting and doing deadlifts, to the point where I couldn't do the exercises properly. Stretching hadn't worked, but I just gave this a try for about 5 minutes, and the pain is completely gone. Pretty amazing, and I'm back doing squats and deadlift pain-free a few minutes after this arrived

Useful tool in the toolbox
I prefer using the Thrival board, but I kept this because I figured it might be useful if I can learn how to use it. It isn't as intuitive. So far I've used it on my hip, but I'm not sure I did so correctly. With Thrival and lacross balls, the pain tells you when you hit the right spot. I didn't get that with this one. It's a little awkward to use as well, especially if you've got other injuries going on. It's sturdy and well-made, and that plus the reviews made me decide to keep it. Maybe one day I'll figure it out.
