This book is written for people who want to learn quickly and easily.

Another great volume by Hazel Soan. Learn to Paint People Quickly, is filled with practical and useful information on proportion,the body itself, poses, color and tone including how to add people, or figures into watercolor paintings, along with so much more! Some reviewers have mentioned lack of step by step instructions, and no, it is not a step by step beginner instruction book. This book is about painting people in watercolor, spontaneously and quickly with minimal detail, a simple approach that only suggests a figure, using brush strokes that can be recognized as a figure or person. Much can be learned by just looking at the examples in the book and replicating them, there many small paintings of figures broken down into simple parts.

This book is a very quick reference for painting people. The people are painted very loose, and it's informative to learn how to put people in your paintings when they are not the focal point. Wish it had a little more detail, but maybe because I am an experienced painter - for a beginner it would be wonderful.

As an aspiring artist, I need to get better at drawing and painting people. This book looked appropriate, so I looked for a good used copy. As so often happens with art books, this one arrived in very good condition, perfectly readable and usable. It was no more worn than if it had been in my own library for a while.

This book is for “reading” how to paint people but “NO” instructions are shown or directions given. It was definitely quick reading because the book is filled with the authors Paintings. It seams like the author had plenty to say about why you would paint a subject a certain way, but no instructions or directions. I found this a very unsatisfactory instructional book. This is just my Opinion tho and someone else might really like the book.

Some helpful 'tips' but certainly not "how to" Learn To Paint People Quickly. Not a step by step guide. Not sure who this book is geared toward. Certainly not for beginners or aspiring intermediates but also not for seasoned painters who already know about perspective and the relationship of figures in a scene.This book seems to be a showcase for her paintings with some text and tips sprinkled here and there.Was expecting something close to her video interview where she talks a bit about brush strokes and color choices. There was a bit more detail regarding painting the face. Overall feel this book is misrepresented as a 'how to' when in fact is a quick survey of her work. Disappointed

Very nice book of various media and quick sketches of people. Lots of inspiration and ideas for adding figures to your landscapes. Notes on clothes, movement, light, action and much more. Fun just to page through to see examples of artwork.

A very useful book, handy size and full of detailed information about how to draw figures. Lots of tips and easy to follow instructions, highly recommend to any artist who struggles adding examples of people into their paintings.

Many photos of paintings. Very light on proportions and shallow explanations overall... A "so, so" book. I will not buy a book from this "collection" again.

I’m just learning to draw and paint and I found this book very useful. Each page has some clear instruction that can easily be followed and a beautifully painted illustration of the points discussed. If you want to add human figures to your paintings or drawings, I highly recommend this book.
