Hubsan H501A X4 Brushless WIFI Drone GPS and App Compatible 6 Axis Gyro 1080P HD Camera RTF Quadcopter

This is a great drone when it works. Customer service is quick to blame the victim. What they don't say is that almost anything from power lines to electromagnetic radiation from space can interefere with your connection and have your drone fly away. When your drone flys away they ask for a video of the drone during the flight (who videos a drone while watching fpv?). They ask if you took a screenshot of the coordinates before you lost contact. How can you know when contact will be lost? Customer service offers no help and recommended "something that does not fly". Once again, it is a great drone when it works but when it flies away you will just be told something like solar radiation could have interefered with the compass and you are out of luck. At the very least there should be a warning that you could lose your drone randomly at any point with no liability with hubsan. This is just my experience.Edit: Contact Mifly Drone instead of hubsan if you bought your drone through Mifly. They are much more helpful. I was offered a replacement at 70% off, which is a lot better than what Hubsan offered. Mifly CS was great.Replacement came quick and in perfect shape, I still get nervous knowing it could happen again.

Let me start off by saying, I am a Hubsan fan, I own 3, including h501s advanced. All have been excellent drones, that performed better than expected.About a month ago I ordered h501a with the relay, the drone was buggy from the beginning, First GPS would not hold, it just drifted on its own, I tried three different locations all with the same result, Second, when I connected via relay I experience terrible lag on video transmission, often as long as 15 seconds. I spent about 2 weeks trying to correct the problems without success, I finally decided I just got a lemon and returned it. So I was just going to leave it, until I saw that Husband was coming out with an updated version of the h501a, they are replacing the relay with a new and improved transmitter ht011, so I decided I would give it another chance, I really needed the way points for my projects.So I saw this ad on amazon, that clearly shows the h501a with the ht011 transmitter, so I ordered it, it arrived today, luckily I checked it before I accepted delivery, they sent me the old model with the buggy relay, I refused delivery, needless to say I was very disappointed.I have been flying drones for about 7 years and use them professionally, I use the hubsan for higher risk shots that I would not feel comfortable flying my more expensive dji and yuneec drones.The bottom line, send me what I ordered, and don't switch it for a lesser model, just honor your ad.

As I learn this thing it is a lot of fun. And, not incredibly hard to use when you figure it out - watching videos is MUCH better for understanding that the in box instructions. Flight control will just take time and practice.This did NOT come with the handheld joystick controller shown in the picture. This is solely (your 3rd party) device controlled with a (included) transmitter box.ADD! The wifi relay box is junk and very unreliable. It constantly disconnects in mid flight leaving your drone susceptible to crashing/loss

It actually included a HT011A controller that is pictured with the review. I purchased the HS001 monitor separately for use when I did not want to use a cell phone for the video feed all the time.

So far it’s a pretty awesome drone for the price. A couple of the motors squealed from day one intermittently though. Vertical punch seems pretty awesome but this being my first brushless drone I don’t have any firsthand basis of comparison. Waypoint and orbit modes work flawlessly but after 5-6 tries to get “follow me” to work, it never has. It exits out within seconds. Camera quality is pretty good with the included lens filter. Starts to lose connection to my phone at about 100 meters.*** Changed my review to 5 stars as the follow me mode now works after upgrading my fc & rx firmware! Was keeping tight track of me while on my mountain bike at full speed making sharp turns. Excellent!

This thing it's great .. I fly it with the relay and the standard remote.. the video is not the best but for it not to have a gimball it's good .u can add one ..it's a give and take in flight time ..amazing for the price.PS. Stock propellers are very good but Upgraded to 8045 its way better smooth and steady Hoover

I'm very happy with the quality of this drone so far. For the price you can't beat it. The relay that comes with it has a somewhat limited range but once paired with the ht011a transmitter the range is much better. I have no doubt the 2.4ghz has the capability of 1000m but the fpv doesn't do much past 400m.

Having had cheaper drones I always wanted something better and I was not dissapointed .The drone come in an attractive box with a picture of the drone and controller so makes an exciting gift. Its well packaged and unpacking it reveals the drone on top with propellors in boxes to the side along with a the charger and batteries and controller below.The drone is really well made. Its made of strong stuff and looks very attractive in black and gold. its just the right size, big enough to impress but not too big to be portable. the controller has a really professional feel to it.The one thing I had trouble with with this drone was setting up the phone with the controller and it took me a few attempts before I sorted it out.IMPORTANTYou must download the Hubsan App on your phone and insert a memory card in the drone (not included)1, First switch on the drone by inserting the battery.2, next switch on controller3, Switch on your phone and go to WiFi settings and MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT TO THE CONTROLLER NOT THE DRONE AS I KEPT DOING.4. Follow on screen prompts and your ready to fly.The drone works like a dream. It has GPS control so unlike cheap drones does not whizz all over the place, it auto takes off and hovers about 6 foot in the air. You have complete control with this drone. it performs really well and I have had it so high in the sky I can no longer see it relying on the display on the phone. It has good speed if you need it and operates really smoothly. i have flow this thing in a steady wind at 70 meteres high and it still remained solid as a rock. The orbit mode is great and so is the follow me mode which is lots of fun and makes filming a walk possible.It has a huge range and the battery life is about 18-20 mins even on a cold winters day.The Video qaulity is really exceptional, think really good Blu Ray.Stuck in a lockdown I have been unable to take it anywhere to let it really spread its wings but this is a perfect drone that does everything and does it really well and I cant see I could ever need anything better.I am very pleased with this drone and after lockdown ends I cant wait to take it to some really scenic places.Well worth the money and delivery was the next day.Perfect drone. if you have a budget of under £200 and want a really top pro drone then this is for you, Buy it you wont be dissapointed.

Arrived a day earlier then expected. plugged in the charger and the battery for the drone and it started to smoke as soon as it was plugged in. The battery on the wifi extender did charge completely with no issues. Too bad it looked solid. I heard some complaints about the lights being too bright but that is just dumb .. you need the lights to be bright to fly it its advertised distance. Came with extra blades but one was already broken. Maybe it was broken during packaging. Hubsan provides an extra 4 blades I guess due to such instances. So never got to try it out due to battery issues so cannot comment on the flight controls etc. Seriously lacking in the instructions to flying with the software as the instructions are nil. Turns out I watched and wasted a bunch of time on youtube watching review videos of the product that had included some detail. OF most notable part of review is that I went to Hubsan website. Went on to the support page for Hubsan and advised of the battery and other issues and there has been ZER0 attempt via email or telephone to contact me to discuss a remedy. So its now on its way back. 2 good to be true= 2 bad I wasted my time.

the app is very glitchy and caused the loss of this drone i have a hubsan 502 5.8 2.4 flys great never loss cof connection tji app version of the 501 has issues with interference on the wifi control would never buy this again , only 2.4 5.8 control and fpv 200.00 learning lesson i guess which sucks

I am new to the drone market. Before this purchase, I purchased a lot less expensive Snaptain model and sent it back as the overall quality was inadequate and the battery life was awful.When this Hubsan drone first arrived you could see straight away that quality was far more superior than the less expensive Snaptain model. Look up reviews on YouTube and you’ll see what I’m talking about.I took it for my first flight today and was very impressed. Auto take off function works well and the drone just hovers in front of you and does not fly off. It was quite windy too and I felt confident in taking higher than 50mtrs in altitude to see how it coped. The return home function took a while, but I’m not sure if that was because it was windy! I did have problems getting into orbit mode for some reason. But the waypoint mode and follow mode worked a treat.I will provide further updates as I learn more about this drone. But so far I am very impressed.Update: After a few more flights. I’ve now worked out the return follow me, orbit functions. My phone was connected to the drone Wi-fi rather than the transmitters Wi-fi. This was due to the way I set the drone up initially. I’ve now disconnected from the drones Wi-fi completely and this has solved the problem. Everything now works fine.This drone is amazing. Even on a pretty windy day.Update: I’ve emailed the company explaining what happened as I feel the drone was “faulty”! I was flying the drone at an altitude of 30mtrs and it was about 20mtrs away from when I all of a sudden lost control and it went tearing into the trees at high speed. I used the last known GPS coordinations to try and find it, with no success. I had plenty of battery and signal was good as it wasn’t that far away from me. It was like someone had taken control of it.I’ve now received a response from the seller who has offered to resolve the issue promptly.

HUBSAN DOES NOT HONOUR THEIR WARRANTY. The drone itself is good for the price and works well as long as the compass is callebrated properly. I have had the drone for just under a year and recently one of the motors stoped working. Hubsan will not replace or fix it even though the problem is not user error.Hubsan email to me was,“Hello,Sorry for that We can’t judge it is the defective of the motor as your description.Because the motor is well when you received.Might you need to replace the motor for your self or send it back to repair service Center”
