Wireless CarPlay Adapter for iPhone - 2022 Upgrade Wired to Wireless Apple Carplay Dongle, 5GHz WiFi, Low Latency, Easy-to-Install, Plug & Play

I am using the U2-Air wireless CarPlay adapter in my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep's Uconnect only supports CarPlay with a wired connection to iPhone, and I wanted to be able to connect wirelessly. This adapter does that, and in general it works well. It was straightforward to install, and mostly worked out of the box. It's very small, and fits into on the little shelf above the USB connectors behind the little door under the display. I did have some issues with the interaction between the adapter and the Uconnect system. Sometimes when I shifted into reverse the backup camera was not displayed, and other times when the backup camera was displayed, when I then shifted into drive the backup camera continued to be displayed and there was no way to turn it off other than shutting off the engine. Fortunately, the CGAUTO tech support was very good and responsive. Working with them via email, I was able to help them troubleshoot the problems, and now after several firmware updates I believe it is working correctly. I would have given a 5-star rating based on the support I got, but decided that 4 stars was more appropriate given that there were issues. I like CarPlay and it's nice to be able to use it wirelessly, without having to take my phone out of my pocket.

*** 6 months of usage update***Item still works as expected. Only thing is with two phones, it's really messy to switch between them in CarPlay. I'm not sure if it's device limitation or original CarPlay limitation, but this hurts user experience.3 stars out of 5 for lack of mechanism to switch between phones easily.-- original post --- Great product and exactly what I was looking for.I want to avoid plugging my phone in for quick rides, so this adapter helps. Once you click a button on the steering wheel, there is a minor delay in action in CarPlay. Besides that really good, compact product. I didn't test tech support, so I don't know how responsive they are.

I bought two of these wireless adapters. One works great with my KENWOOD aftermarket radio. The other not so good. I used the second one in my 2016 Camaro SS. Sometimes it connects and sometimes not. It may have something to do with GM’s software because the other one works great. Nonetheless it reflects poorly on this device.

At first the unit worked, although it was a slow startup and I could not find a way to have it auto start the music. After about a week, I started having problems, including the unit not starting CarPlay and requiring an unplug / plugin to get it to start working again. Given the problems, I performed a software update, which seemed to work without issue (and the instructions were straight forward). After the update though, the unit would show the splash screen when it booted and stay there.Tech support was responsive and sent another update to me; however, it required a Windows system and I have a Mac. Support was trying to find another way for me to apply the update, but by this point I just returned the unit.When it did work though, it worked pretty well. I would prefer a faster processor in the unit even if that meant a higher cost.

disconnections, lags, audio problems. Didn’t worth the money for me.
