If they stop working, go to their website and get the software update. Easy to use and great for monitoring my property.

Good camera for the cost
For what the camera is, you get what is advertised. Even if you do not like features, for the money you get a fair product that will solve most needs. This is a tool to see what is going on and do some scouting. I feel I have this in the camera. Subscription plans for the most part are fairly priced I think. Its nice to want more, but welcome to subscription based products. I think 4 stars is appropriate if you review the camera for what it provides.Advantages:- Setup was easy and straight forward. Nothing to do at the camera for the most part. Getting the app working was no issue on Android. The app just works and is intuitive to use.- Cell connection was perfect. If you do your part to make sure you have the required carrier, you will be OK. Just check the maps of coverage in your area before purchasing.- Small camera and I suspect battery life will be pretty good with 8 AA batteries. I just paid the money for the rechargeable 3000mA Hour Lithium Ion Batteries. I will update once I see how long they last. After 4 days my battery indicator still shows 100%. Just be sure in the app setup to get the battery type correct so the battery level is accurate.- Triggering is really good. I thought I had a issue with false triggering, only to notice in the daytime picture I attached that a Blue Jay was setting it off. Depending on the plan you get, this could be a disadvantage possibly.- Night time flash range is really good as you can see in the attached nighttime photo.- Build quality is good in my view. Time will tell, but first impression is this is a solid camera.Things I Wish Were There:- Cannot log into the app and take a picture on demand- Quality in the app is low, HD quality seems expensive to me so I will wait to pull the card in my case.- Setting species detection to Buck is misleading, it should say Deer. By no means a show stopper, but call a spade a spade. Little bit of trickery in the marketing I think.- Weather screen in the app shows the forecast for a place 24 minutes from my house. 1st issue is this is not most accurate location, second is my cameras are at my property 3 hours north. I need the weather where the cameras are located. There should be a option to set this. I am still trying to figure out where the temp shown in the picture is taken from. If the weather is there, it should be linked to the picture file.

Greedy Anti-Privacy Policy on Their Website and Inadequate Physical Security
Security is obviously the most important feature of a security camera.I spent over 1 hour studying their website and found 0 prominent mentions of whether or how the data on the SD card is encrypted. The included instructions show that the card needs to be formatted before insertion, which means it does not use full drive encryption, opening a potential route to compromise the device firmware.Furthermore, an attacker could remove the card, upload an exploit to it, and re-insert it to hack your computer. That is not difficult, and not a remote possibility since these are left exposed for years and people steal trail cameras and vandalize security cameras frequently, and their data plans only allow wireless transfer of files from the current monthly subscription period. If you are going to accept their anti-privacy policy by using this product, I recommend applying tamper evident tape for that reason. The terms of use on their website are written with inexcusable blatant arrogance and greed. Instead of re-assuring users that their images, audio, and video will be kept confidential or under the user's legal control, unless relevant to a criminal investigation, they do the opposite extreme. The following quote is an excerpt from the spypoint.com website:14.2 Content License"By submitting Content to the Platform [defined earlier as the websites spypoint.com, myspypoint.com], you grant SPYPOINT a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to do anything with your Content that by any applicable law you would otherwise have the sole right to do, including the right to authorize anything in respect of such Content, including for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, subject to SPYPOINT’s Personal Information Protection Policy [for European Commission (EC) regulation compliance]."Submitting content to the platform does not just mean publicly posting images. Elsewhere in the terms, they indicate that it refers to all of the data transferred to them. They do not make it clear which, if any, parts of their EU GDPR compliance policy (Personal Information Protection Policy) would protect those of us who are not European Union citizens or living in Europe. My next door neighbor says his trail cameras were stolen. The case is flimsy plastic, so these are easy to steal or vandalize. Spypoint advertises overpriced metal cases that appear far too thin to be bullet resistant. The pictures do not show a window, or even a mounting place for 1, meaning the lenses would be exposed to vandalism. My next door neighbor says the 5 year prison sentence she got did not deter the intruder who broke into and largely destroyed his house. He says he has given up on having a cabin there. I have had a 1st degree felony theft on my property. Ultimately, these cameras are worthless for my needs and I do not plan to buy any more or even use them except maybe as decoys.
