I’ve only had this for about 1 week since it’s been installed and the damn thing continues to open and close. My dog was just starting to get use to it and now he’s scared of it. It’s crap!

bought one of those dog doors that they had to push through. Dog I bought one of those dog doors that they had to push through. Dog didn’t want to do it. So I ordered this one instead that opens and closes. The door works great. My dog and cat go in and out all day. I purposely bought this one with Wi-Fi and app so I could see history and get notifications. That does not work. I email the support desk every day and they tell me to hard reset and install the door again. Doesn’t work at all. Even thought I check and the door is connected to Wi-Fi with all bars the app doesn’t recognize it so I can’t see history or get notifications. Also I put this on a door and then had to pay $110 for batteries. With the battery and no AC power the door connects to Wi-Fi for 5 minutes then you never get Wi-Fi again. So my handyman had to install an outlet next to the door so it could be plugged in all the time. Timer doesn’t work either. I have it set not to let them exit at 5pm but the key Fob still works and they go outside. So that functionality is inaccurate along with their app. I’m writing this review so all potential buyers know actually what the current status is. Hope they fix their app. want to do it. I loved my (non wifi) power pet door. I thought buying the wifi version was going to be next level so I could manage my two dogs from work. WRONG!!! I have made my living in tech writing software and managing systems for the last 28 years and these clowns have gone cheap on hardware and have no idea what they are doing on the software side. First ; It must connect to 2.4k wifi so I ended up having to split my wifi into two networks just to get the thing online. Once online with a strong wifi signal I can only control the door 20% of the time (that's generous) and when it finally does connect it ALWAYS takes 30 seconds or more to engage. Compared to 1 or 2 seconds to connect and see images on cameras on my same network. Keep in mind I have installed all my cameras; alarm; ring; IoT items like power tools, refrigerator etc. None of these have ever missed a beat. I called support 2 different times about the crappy connectivity and the young woman could only offer rebooting and ultimately a factory reset (start over with connection info). When I cornered her on it she could only say; well the camera tech is totally different tech. (No not really; it may be diff language but the data has to make the same trip from the device to your wifi through your router to internet, then their web server farm, then through their homemade software and finally out to your phone. Then the opposite for your commands to run the door. When confronted with a reasonable argument she then could only say and I quote. "Well we are the only wifi pet door on the market". So basically telling me just live with their crappy engineering.WHATEVER... DONT WASTE YOU MONEY THINKING THE WIFI WILL BE USEFULL. It's not useful or even usable.

I've had this dog door for nearly a year. Don't bother getting the wifi feature, it doesn't work. Sometimes the door has problems closing, sometimes it won't open. Stick with a regular dog door, I wish I had.

The door loses its WiFi connection to my router all the time and the app is garbage. They have not updated it in 2 years according to the Apple App Store. App is called Power Pet Door.

This door change mine and my pets life. I am able to work 12 hours shifts and my dog has the freedom to go in and out when he wants, Highly recommend.
