Delphi MF0096 Mechanical Fuel Pump

This pump failed shortly after installed. Guess diaphragm was pinched oe just poor quality. Leaked fuel outside and inside mounting cavity. I would return but as I live in Panama, SA not financially feasible to pay what it cost to ship back to seller COSTS as much as pump. Just sad to see premiere Companies now having there products made overseas and are really crap quality. I'LL be buying the next (two) 1 spare from a source made somewhere other than CHINA.

It fit my 89 wrangler, however when I went to prime it immediately started leaking fuel at the crimp where the two pieces come together to house the diaphragm. It could not pump fuel up to the carburetor. I made sure it wasn't just the weep hole

Do yourself a favor and go get a fel-pro gasket from the autoparts store.This gasket didn't last very long before leaking. Swapped out with a fel-pro and it was perfect.

Even after rotating the Cam, the pump would not install. The arm would not budge far enough to get the pump flush to mount it. The inside spring seemed too stiff. Was not going to try and force it and damage it or my vehicle. Went with a NAPA part that gave me no issue.

No local parts stores had this fuel pump and said they couldn't get it. Don't know why it's a common pump for millions of vehicles. Ordered and received in a couple of days for less $$. Works like new, oh it is new.

Read all the reviews on this pump and with the highs and lows decided to go with it since there isn’t many options for a mechanical fuel pump for a thirty year old vehicle. Well it lasted me a week before it stranded me on the freeway.

Replaced pump on 2/16/2021 now 3 months later it quit working. Not really sure I would buy again.

As others have written, piece of junk, blew out after about 50 miles. Called Delphi, said "Huh, I don't see any reports of these going bad...." I asked, "Do you have Google? Look on Jeep forums, AMC forums. You know, where your customers are?" It got silent as he typed, lol.Don't waste your money, go get one at NAPA, it may blow out, too.(China made), but atleast you can keep returning under warranty, unlike Amazon. Maybe after so many returns they'll see they didn't make more profit on going cheap vs making a quality one.
