Is the digital software frequently updated? I see very little info on the actual product other than the foot pedal.

In all honesty, I don't know, but my first guess would be that it would have updates available. I would contact the software company, maybe they have a website, and ask them directly to get a firm answer.

Can the foot pedal be used with the software application "transcribe and connect"?

I use the foot pedal and it works perfectly. Cut my time in half!

How long does the software license last? Is it permanent or year??

not 100% sure but i only paid for the cost of the transcriber. It's belongs to us. It's up to us to use the equipment for transcribing documents. honestly, i have not used my in years...:(
