Complexion Clearing Acne Cleanser

This is what was recommended by my dermatologist. I have sensitive skin and eczema. Does not cause eczema flares for me. Good value for money too! Please don’t ever stop making this

Great formulation! Gentle yet effective. I have very sensitive skin with dermatitis, so have to be careful to avoid harsh ingredients but still want effective skincare. This is perfect for me! I mostly use it on my body in the shower, but will use it occasionally on my face and my skin can tolerate it. Will repurchase this!

This face wash is so gentle but cleansing. I wanted a lower percentage benzoyl peroxide wash and I was so happy to find one. It’s a great price and cleanses without stripping the skin. I experienced no irritation thankfully.

There is a bit of a smell to it but not iver powering and something you can't get past. I've had the same bottle for about a month and I still have a ton left and I was my fave 2 to 3 times a day.

I have VERY severe nodulocystic acne - I have been on Accutane twice, and would qualify for a third time. This Cetaphil BPO Acne Cleanser is one of my favorite facial acne products ever, and I wish I knew about it earlier! I use it twice daily and it is very effective at clearing / reducing breakouts while not being too irritating. I still do breakout, but it is less frequent than before, and when I do, the breakouts only last a few days, rather than over a week previously. Given my very severe acne, I do still need to use several other acne products, including prescription tazarotene 0.1% cream (stronger than tretinoin 0.1%), prescription doxycycline oral medication, prescription clindamycin 1% gel, Paula's Choice BHA salicylic acid, CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser, The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc, The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid, and The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors. However, the addition of this Cetaphil BPO Acne Cleanser has made a significant improvement in my acne. Of note, my acne is so severe overall that I would qualify for a third course of Accutane, although I am electing not to do it a third time for other reasons. With this product and the above regimen (admittedly very long), while my acne is not completely gone, this is the best my acne has been since being on Accutane, and I am very happy overall.

I could not get my acne under control before this! Anytime I would become stressed or there were hormonal adjustments my skin would suffer. Once I started this my skin completely stopped breaking out and it is not irritating at all!

This review is not for whether or not this product works for acne because I won't be using it long enough to know. First is basic info on the product for those who understand how benzoyl peroxide works, then you peeps can skip my follow up info for those who do not understand how these types of products work. So this "cleanser" is a pass for me because quite frankly, it didn't feel like it even cleaned my skin. I have oily skin, it still felt oily after I used this. This does not lather or foam up AT ALL, so basically all you're doing in rubbing a cream on your face and rinsing it off. For that, you can just use a spot treatment. People complained about the smell. I have a sensitive sense of smell and this didn't offend me. It smells a bit like a medicated cream, which it basically is. I'm going to try a different brand that might actually feel as if it cleans my face. In fairness, I didn't feel like I could rate it horribly because maybe it works. Hence the 3 stars. OK, general info I wish someone would have told me as a teenager/young adult that I didn't learn until middle age. Acne products like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid work in different ways and what works for one person doesn't work for another. There's also retinols and retinoids. The most important thing to know about ANY of them, which no one told me when I was younger is that YOUR ACNE IS GOING TO GET SO MUCH WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER. That's just the way it is. Because no one told me this, I never stuck with any product long enough to get the benefits. (Yes a dermatologist would have told me. But I grew up very poor. A dermatologist was not in the cards for me growing up), All of these will make you purge (break out worse) for what experts claim is 4-6 weeks. My SA purge last winter lasted over 8 weeks and even then, I still broke out in certain areas. But my skin did look better. For a while. Then it's like SA stopped doing anything for me so I added a retinoid. Still no real progress, plus the 2 products together ever day ruined my sensitive skin barrier. I wanted to try benzoyl peroxide products but here's a very important thing you need to know about them: THEY WILL DISCOLOR YOUR TOWELS/WASHCLOTHES/PILLOWCASES AND SOMETIMES SHIRTS IF YOUR FACE TOUCHES THEM. It doesn't matter what product or what strength. It doesn't even matter that you've washed/rinsed the product off. Try it with a cheap colored washcloth. It will leech the color out and leave behind an almost tan staining. I really don't want to ruin all my towels and pillowcases, so I've been hesitant to try a facial wash with BP in it to start with, but I have a spot treatment I use on problem areas and it seems to help. Also know (which I did not) that even if you already went through a purge using another acne fighting ingredient, if you use a different one, you'll purge again. And start with lower concentrations and work your way up---for instance I thing this facial cleanser is 2.6%, but they make OTC ones that go up to 10%. Same with SA. There are different OTC strengths, so start lower and work your way up. For treating acne, it's really a marathon, not a sprint, and you have to stick with a product for a long time. The sucky thing is when you stick with it for a few months only to find out it really isn't working for you. Then you have to start all over. Also for most of you, know this: Trust me. Your face does not look as bad as you think it does. I've always thought my acne was horrible. But I've seen horrible acne and mine's not it. I've also actually gotten compliments on my skin at times, even though I thought those people were just being kind. I asked my doctor for something for acne last week, and she looked at my face, then looked at me like I was nuts. So know that as bad as you think it is, it likely really is not!

Working well! I have adult acne that I thought I had to hit harder since it wasn't going away. I ended up needing to be more gentle. Using this 2x a week and a simple ingredient face wash and moisturizer has helped my skin calm down so much. I used a spot treatment. On the one or 2 pimples I have seen, but it is gentle on skin and doing the job.

Me gusta este producto. Lo uso en la cara y también en la parte inferior de las piernas para aliviar la irritación y el ardor que me produce el afeitado. No irrita mi piel grasa. También elimina las pequeñas manchas que me salen en la frente.
