THE FLAVOR IS MOUTH WATERING
USE A WHOLE SECTION OF PORK SHOULDER. GRIND IT USE THE SEASONING REGRIND AND COVER , LET SET IN THE REFRIGERATOR OVER NIGHT AT LEAST 12 HOURS AND THEN FORM YOUR OWN PATTIES OR STUFF INTO CASSINGS. YOU CAN FREEZE FOR FUTURE USE. I AM PORTUGUESE AND BELIEVE ME THIS IS RIGHT ON THE MARK. BUT BEING PORTUGUESE ALSO MEANS I HAD MORE GARLIC ..LOL

So happy I found these mixes
After leaving Hawaii for the mainland, I missed the Portuguese sausage. So happy I found these mixes!! I just processed 50lbs of wild boar and this made authentic flavored sausage. Can't wait to turn it into bean soup!

May have to tweak it
Grew up with Noh products. I live in Michigan and been soo ONO (Hungry) for Hawaiian Portuguese Sausage. 10 years almost 11 I have searched high and low, near and far for a market that may carry Hawaiian portuguese Sausage. I still have not found it. I decided that I'll get this as their products cut time in half for me.. Since I've been smoking alot of meat, bread, dinner meals,veggies and desserts I wanted to try smoking sausage. I mixed it added a little bit of garlic chili paste since my hawaiian chili peppers have not yet sprouted. Let it sit for a little over 24hrs. First let me say this. When mixing it I just didn't have that scent of portuguese sausage. A day later still no distinct Hawaiian portuguese Sausage smell I grew up knowing like rendondos, Hawaiian brand and the many local brands out there. I smoked it and even made patties. once sampled it was super salty. No salt added on my end just the packet. i get that there are alot of preservatives to keep it packaged but still... Too much salt.. Also the patties didn't come out like the red looking portuguese sausage I know of.. maybe added color dye? idkBut Next time I will use only half a pouch for every 2 lbs and adding a little bit more spices.. Today I will be making another batch but from scratch. We will see how it goes.This is a quick fix for those of us that live away from Hawaii and Vegas or those who don't want to make their own.

Not the same as you get in Hawaii
This isn’t a bad seasoning for sausage, however, it does not taste like the Portuguese sausage you get out in Hawaii.

You need to mix with sausage. And water. Must use right amount.

Aloha homesick mainland and beyond kama'ainas! When Gouvea or Redondos Portuguese Sausages is in short supply, these packets sure come in handy! Pretty ono!

Dried Up and Crusty
Only one out of twelve delivered and you could feel it was chunky like it got moist and redried. It should be a powder like every other package of seasoning mix. It's a shame. I've ordered this before without any issues.
