Aggressive face scrub
The face scrub has a sweet floral fragrance and a creamy texture. However, the ground pumice (volcanic stone) and pomace (olive husk) included for mechanical exfoliation are so abrasive that it left my face slightly raw looking the next morning, even though I only used it gently and briefly and with a lot of water. I would not recommend using this scrub anywhere but on the soles of the feet and would suggest using a washcloth for mild mechanical exfoliation on the face and other sensitive areas. The plastic tube holds 4.2 fl. oz. or 125 ml.Ingredients: Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, aqua, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glycerin, pumice, Olea europaea (olive) oil, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, isopropyl palmitate, glyceryl stearate SE, cetearyl glucoside, Glycine soja (soybean) oil, Prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, Cera alba (beeswax), Olea europaea (olive) husk powder, xanthan gum, sodium stearoyl glutamate, Olea europaea (Olive) leaf extract, Citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel extract, Vitis vinifera (grape) leaf extract, Thymus vulgaris leaf extract, Foeniculum vulgare seed extract, ascorbic acid, parfum, Ribes nigrum, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid, amyl cinnamal, benzyl salicylate, geraniol, hydroxycitronellal, linalool.

Good, intense scrub. More expensive than the apricot scrubs I use.
I use this on my hands to scrub off oil and grime for working outside as well as very gently on my face. It seems to work very well. The granules that do the scrubbing are plentiful and effective and while they're very effective on my hands, this scrub is gentle enough for the face. I use a bit of water so that it spreads more easily and follow the directions, scrubbing in circular motion. I usually use the apricot scrubs one can find everywhere; I found that this scrub was slightly more intense, meaning that the granules seem a little larger. I would caution against pressing hard at all when using it.While my skin feels good after using it, it is coated with an oily residue that I don't like and so I use soap and water to wash it off. I'm probably washing off the beneficial olive oil and other herbal and moisturizing ingredients off my skin but I would rather just have clean skin free of products.I give this scrub 4 stars because it is far more expensive than the apricot scrubs I normally use and I don't think it's any more effective; in fact, the larger granule size may make this scrub less desirable for those with sensitive skin.

Like washing with sand.
The ad for Organic Doctor Organic Virgin Olive Oil Face Scrub, 4.2 fl.oz. looked good so I decided to give it a try. We are told that the ingredients in the scrub are "a bioactive deep cleansing exfoliant with intense hydrating and skin nourishing properties formulated using organically certified and natural extracts." Sounds good. Each morning I have carefully washed my face with this scrub. I stood in the shower, let the warm water flow over my face, and then put a quarter sized dollop of the scrub in my hands and spread it around before applying to my face. The experience is like washing my face with sand – I don’t exaggerate. When I was finished washing I put my face in the shower to be sure that all the scrub was washed off. When I finished with the shower and toweled off, my face did feel clean. The scrub has a light and pleasant smell, at least to me, which goes away immediately after washing off the soap. This is an expensive product that is unpleasant to use (Who likes to wash with sand?), but seems to work well to clean the face. Recommended with noted reservations.

No plastic microbeads but pumice as exfoliator
Having read about the water pollution problems caused by microplastic scrubbing grains in many exfoliating products, I have made a decision to toss any products in my bathroom that contain microplastic beads into the trash and only use exfoliants that do not use them.Given the double use of organic in the product name, I did not look closely at the ingredient list before ordering this. I expected that the exfoliating grains would be ground up bits of olive pits so the product would be similar to the St. Ives Face Scrub Apricot 6 oz (Pack of 3) . From looking at the ingredients, it looks like pumice is the active exfoliating ingredient. On the plus side, pumice is not plastic so it does put this within my environmental guidelines, but I don't really like the idea of using pumice on my face. It does feel like a more aggressive exfoliant so I would not recommend this if you have sensitive skin.Again on the plus side, the lotion part of the product feels quite nice and the aloe and oils would be very softening. But with the pumice, I doubt I would order this again.

Good product!
This is a very nice, not too heavy cream with a sandy, gritty texture. I was very happy with the way this product cleaned my face, though I did feel a little skin irritation the first couple of days. The directions tell us to apply the cream and rub it in with gentle circles. This felt good, and afterwards my skin didn't have that taut, dry feeling that often results when I use water. I am very happy that the fragrance is gentle and doesn't remain very long.I have also used the product on my very dry hands, followed by a good hand cream, and I am happy with the results.Because of the sandy texture, I will probably only use this facial scrub every few days. However, I like the results, and the ingredients seem about as innocent as one ever finds in this kind of product. I have used other Organic Doctor products and have found them quite good, though a bit more expensive than I normally choose. Recvommended to those looking for a cream that works the skin a little as it cleans and moisturizes.
