Great transcriptions and some neat insights into each Porcupine Tree song. I wish there were more!

considering the degree of complexity of the music of Porcupine Tree , and the natural sense of rhythmness of Mr GH , this book is a nice reference how he works out the patterns for each song. How he feels the rhythmic beat and soul of each song and how special is his point of view about the process of composition , which in the case of drums ,is nearly forgotten in the drum teaching. This masterpiece stresses in the importance of no matter how the song is , is always possible to give a spacial and special feeling using non conventional patterns, however it sounds suitable and aproppiate in each song described and "sliced" in the transcriptions. Nice work of love of Terry Branan.Congratulations to both Gavin HArrison and Terry Branan. The Neil Peart's foreword is superb.

If you want to learn either an entire song or just some amazing licks from Porcupine Tree's Gavin Harrison, this is the transcription book for you. At first I bought it because I saw Neil Peart had written the forward, which was great, but the actual transcriptions from Gavin was inspirational.

This book is both entertaining and educational. The comments and stories bring the book to life and the technical aspect is off the charts interesting and provides a wealth of knowledge.

A fantastic book if you are a fan of Porcupine Tree or Gavin Harrison, but also for anyone into odd time signatures and that kind of stuff. There's a lot to be learned from Gavins approach to drumming and if you practice the ideas and grooves from this book it'll sure be a workout for your independence and general listening. Overall a great book and with a bit of creativity you'll have tons of great exercises.

Transcription are super well done and you have nice comment from Gavin before each off the song. A highly recommand it to any Gavin Fan or drummer who want to challenge themselfes.
