Not a Bad Meter
I have to admit I was skeptical initially buying this meter considering the brand is Mastech and another well priced clamp AMP meter by Klein is similarly priced. The Mastech has so far exceeded all of my expectations. I found the AC AMP reading to be well enough calibrated for my line of work and the DC reading was satisfactory for reading alternators. I really like the probes included, however they could have a less fine point that would allow me to hold the contact better. The sharp point may be beneficial if you plan to stick the probes into a wire or connection. The voltage reading was as accurate as my other meters, but this is the highest quality of the meter I have. The OHM reading was also useful for my vape coils and the onboard OHM reader in my vape reported similar readings within a small margin. Overall great meter for the money.

20 yrs in hvacr, service, its like i have a new friend! love it
im an hvac service tech, & after buying multiple back up multimeters, this one is is the one, great feel( rubber coated) , GREAT OPERATION, no problems at all with mine, best meter for the price period.buy 6 of these instead of one fluke, reads breakers amp draw before breaker trips on a direct short, thats fast!nice audiable continuity tester sound, great light, (both lcd read out light,& mini amp clamp light)davi highly reccommend this meterdoing hvac for almost 20 years, this is my favorite multimeter to datelook NO FURTHER 4 a main multimeter to replace your old tired ( inaccurate) testeru will not be sorry5 starz

Very quickly failing
Amp meter fails to read below around 2 amps. The voltmeter fails to read AC on auto and so far at all. First time.

(Not a) Waste of Money
*(Revised)* I'm back to change my opinion, and i am a suitably contrite because i failed to give this thing close enough inspection and furthermore i failed to RTFM.Apparently somewhere in the process of testing and swapping leads around with another meter, my brain glitched and one the leads didn't get swapped out. That lead has an intermittent open with varying degrees of resistance as it is moved around. This fully accounts for the problems i was experiencing, except for the DC current readings. For that i had to RTFM to learn that it defaults to AC mode and i need to hit "select" button. It doesn't auto-select as in voltage mode.Once the bad lead issue was sorted i actually started using the thing and it turns out, for the most part i really like it. It seems accurate enough as compared to my most trusted meter. I've come to appreciate the auto-ranging and relative measurements, which my older meters lack. And my old eyes REALLY appreciate the crisp backlight when needed. I only wish i could make it stay on for more than 10 seconds, or maybe explicitly push the button again to turn off. I have plenty of rechargeable batteries, it should be my option to drain them.Speaking of which, i question the wisdom of using a small screw to hold the battery cover. It's not even got a washer to prevent it falling out. I wouldn't take this out in the field with me for the reason that i would 100% expect to lose that screw. My biggest complaint is with the auto-off function. It drove me nuts for some time as it shut down every 15 minutes regardless what i was doing. TFM informs me that i can bypass it by holding the "select" button on power up. Or, in the event that it does shut down i can restore it by pushing any button. This is only convenient as compared to turning it off then back on to the function i was using. Basically my choice is remember to hold a button while powering on, (and risk forgetting to turn it off), or being pestered by beeping every 15 minutes. TFM claims it only shuts down if no "activity" but i have it constantly shut down in the middle of my work. The only activity that seems to count is pushing a button, and the NCV button doesn't seem to work for this so i have been pushing the hold button twice every time i get beeped at. I wish there were a way to adjust this timeout period too.The DC current function is tetchy because of the nature of the sensor. It will give wildly varying readouts depending on placement of the clamp, and from my experience so far i am not sure that placement of wire in center of the clamp is the most accurate. So it's really only useful, for me, for estimates in higher current situations. Also, it should not have shipped with a bad lead.So obviously it behooves me to add back some stars, and to apologize for whatever influence my review may have had in the interim. I'm not entirely convinced it is a four-star product but i'm attempting to compensate the review average for my stupidity.Original review follows for posterity.-----I held off reviewing this thing because i wasn't sure if understood it properly and i have other meters i understand very well so when a reading confused me i'd just go for another meter. But i bought this mostly for the DC current function and when i finally took the time to give it my full attention i discovered it is nowhere near accurate. So i tested other functions against my other meters and it also failed. Miserably. Readings all over the place or worse, sometimes not present at all.Might as well clamp the thing around a wire then take my readings from a digital thermometer for all the relevance this thing has to what i'm trying to accomplish with it.It's been quite some time since i bought this but i didn't only come here to belatedly complain. It's important to be able to trust electrical measurements and even a $10 Harbor Freight meter is more trustworthy than this. Don't buy it.

Current measurements are pretty good for what I'm using it for
meter works as advertised; it's not a Fluke, but it does what it is supposed and advertised for. Current measurements are pretty good for what I'm using it for, basic confirmation of current flow and crosscheck with what the motor is supposed to draw, etc.Pretty good meter and I liked the price.
