Review: Great camping stove from Coleman! - This stove is lightweight and portable. Cooks great and cleans up so easily. For RV needs it takes up minimal space, sets up easy, lights easy and does the job. Heating is excellent, no issues after 3 years of use, still looks new. Highly recommend. PS, the only thing that might be a nice touch is non slip bottom pads as it can slide easily if you use too much pressure
Review: Great camping stove - I have had this for a fairly short amount of time, so things may change. What I am finding so far is: 1. Reasonably light and well thought out design overall. 2. Quick and easy to setup and get cooking. I wouldn't manhandle the thing. It goes together easy enough and my gas sniffer can't find any leaks. I put the regulator in a plastic bag before storing in the stove so it is not thumping around in there as I transport the stove. 3. Easy to clean, granted my stove already has some stains on it. Nothing that is not expected and overall the most visible parts of the stove clean up quick and look great at this point. 4. It takes a little practice to get the heat right. This stove can get blazing hot if you want and with no wind and a high setting, you can burn your food to a crisp in an instant. Plus those starter fingers get glowing hot and I have to wonder how good (or bad) an idea it is to have those glowing hot. If there is some wind, even though this has some wind shielding, the settings that work fine with no wind won't hardly cook your food at all. So with some experience and getting used to how the flame looks under various lighting conditions and such, you can dial it in under a number of conditions and get your food cooked right. I generally shoot for the range of the starter fingers are either not glowing at all, just barely under that threshold or only glowing a bit if there is some wind and this usually cooks at a good rate. A fair amount of wind and those starter fingers end up glowing a fair amount to get the heat right. 5. A 1lb tank should last you for days unless you are really doing a whole lot of cooking. Getting an adapter hose to hook up to a much larger tank also works fine, but you probably want to plan ahead a little and shut off the valve to a lager tank a few minutes before you are done cooking in order to purge the line. Of course with a 1 lb tank there is no line to purge, so doesn't apply. I am thinking what I should probably do next time I cook with it is get out my heat gun and take measurements of the cookware to see how hot it is getting. The stove itself is dead simple and easy to operate, which is good. It is just a question of how good the operator is at using the stove.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do you have to use Colleman propane canisters?**
A: Any 1-pound propane canister will work, as well as hooking up a bulk propane tank via appropriate hoses. Triton is the best camp stove I've ever used. Highly recommended!

**Q: There are 2 different clasps pictured - is the wider clasp made of metal or plastic?**
A: The entire stove is metal except for the nobs and the easy start button. The black clasp to lock is metal as well as all the hinges.

**Q: The images show two different clasps. Does this model come with the wide or narrow one?**
A: We just bought this model on Amazon about 3 weeks ago. It has the larger clasp and seemed to work well. Went camping and the ignition/lighter switch was a huge help. Used it for 2 days straight and barely went through 1 small propane tank. Good luck!

**Q: Does it come with a propane adaptor? If not, what should I get? I am new to propane stoves.**
A: Yes, it's made to fit the small green bottles but can be adapted to be used on a 5 gallon. You will need to buy an adaptor hose to fit the stove & screw on to the 5gal bottle. That set up is great for extended camping time.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Coleman Triton+ is a fantastic camping stove.
*by S***E on December 16, 2025*

We purchased this for our son. It works wonderfully. We have an older (40 years) Coleman propane camp stove. Our old stove works well and has been very reliable. However, the Coleman Triton+ blows our old stove away. The flame is super controllable and with a much higher BTU output, it heats a large kettle of water in no time. Mt only complaint is that I don’t have one yet. Oh well Christmas is coming and maybe Santa will bring me one.
