Not just another expensive treatment. This one works well for me!
K, this is my new favorite cold sore treatment. I've had this balm in my cart for ages as I was waiting for my next big sore to happen before I ordered it. My sores are caused by changes in my hormones, plus changing of seasons, plus stress. Last week, with all the worry and anxiety coming from the COVID-19 crisis, I developed a bigger-than-usual sore on my upper lip. I ordered this balm that night and it arrived quickly, which I was really grateful for.I've had sores since I was a kid, and only had a few things that felt like they really worked for me. I've tried Abreva time and time again with only a little success (which is frustrating considering how expensive it is), and a few other over the counter ointments like it, but nothing has seemed to help much. I've even tried applying tea tree or eucalyptus oil to them, and those seem to help the most, but dry my skin out terribly, and they smell unpleasant to boot. But this balm has changed my life, I'm not joking. I can apply this balm as often as I want, and it softens and heals gently. My current sore is on day 9, and very nearly healed, but I feel confident that if I'd had this from day one, it would have healed by now. The balm has a very pleasing lemon scent, and seems to soak in to the sore but stay on the surface of the skin around it to help keep everything from drying out and cracking, which would prolong healing and suffering. Admittedly, this balm seemed expensive at first glance, and I was skeptical about buying yet another high priced treatment option that would only work so-so, but now that I've tried it, I don't ever want to be without it!I will be buying a couple of extra tubes when life settles down some, so I can keep one in my bag and at my office. I'm eager to see how well it works when applied right at the first annoying tingle. I hope that if you try this, you'll be as relieved as I was.

Soothing and helpful! Worth a try
I have struggling with constant cold sores for 2 years. I also had herpes around my eye when I was very little so I have dealt with it basically my whole life. Getting cold sores that would stubbornly not heal and stay away made me try every product under the sun. I finally haven’t had one for almost 6 months now so I hope I can help someone out who’s dealing with it cause I know how frustrating they can be. If you are in that situation now and seeing this, don’t worry!! Your cold sores WILL heal and WILL GO AWAY. I truly believe our bodies in time take care of these things. This lip balm was very soothing when I started to feel the first tingle . I can’t say if it ever prevented an outbreak but I felt like it did help and felt very good on the lips during that time. I took meds (1000mg valtrex, 3 times a day ) as well since mine were so bad and recurring. I also used a steroid inhaler ON my lips and that was what basically “cured” me of my recurrent outbreaks after 2 years of struggling. I also took lots of Lysine supplements daily AS WELL AS using lysine lip ointment that I also got off amazon. I did everything under the sun to prevent them but the steroid inhaler was what finally worked for me. Cold sores were my biggest insecurity so I hope this helped if you are struggling too. It’s so common and the stigma really needs to end. Good luck! :)

Best cold sore product - 5 stars
I started with the familiar tingling feeling in my lip a week ago. I had bit my lip in my sleep, and for me any damage to my lip that breaks the skin will ALWAYS result in a cold sore. I immediately increased my L-lysine intake, and I found an unused lysine lip balm and started using it immediately. When this cold sore “blossomed” a day later I could see that I was dealing with one that would prove to be among the worst I’ve ever had. I started researching, and started buying products. I had never heard of lemon balm, but it was highly recommended so I bought a lemon balm salve. It proved to immediately take away the burning and stinging on contact. But the applications weren’t lasting, and I was waking thru the night to reapply it, and although it provided immediate relief, it wasn’t making the cold sore any better, so bought this product and received it yesterday. Upon application, I could tell it was different. I detected clove (although I see that’s not listed as an ingredient, so it must be either the peppermint or the tea tree), which actually burned a bit, and the pain relief wasn’t immediate like the salve I had been using, but in a minute or two there was pain relief. So last night I applied a good layer of it to test the staying power of it. To my amazement, I was not waking thru the night to reapply it. It stayed on all night! And this morning, there is a very noticeable difference in my cold sore. ALL of the swelling in my lip is gone, and the cold sore is reduced by about 30-40%. I am truly impressed! I’ve never found anything else that produced such a quick result! If you are plagued by cold sores, and want something that is going to give a quick result, buy this product. I highly recommend it!

Cold sores gone! And quick!
Whole experience below. Quick summary: WORKS! The faster you use it, the faster it works! Once or twice a day is all you need too get rid of it. And don't bite your lips or pull the skin off! That's what I'd triggering the cold sore!Note: it has a almost soft gritty texture, so it can apply kind of gritty when cold. I like to put it against my lip for a second to warm it, then spread it around. The scent/flavor is kinda like lemon grass.I had a cold sore developing for several days and didn't want it to get worse. I used this a couple times a day and it was GONE within 4 days.Fluke, right? A few weeks later, I felt another developing. This time I applied it once or twice a day, before it could get worse. It never got any worse and was gone within 2 days.Lucky, maybe? Well, I had a third one, just recently, thinking about developing. I immediately applied this, a total of, two times and it was gone within a day!So, my theory? This works, definitely! But, it takes the same amount of time without it to get rid of the cold sore. The quicker you use it, then quicker your lips are back to normal!
