Little bit finicky, I think the george L or planet waves design is far superior as they provide less opportunity for error when installing the connectors.

Great but not the best
i bought this for a pedal board project. Assembly is easy even for someone that is not familiar with cables. I like the kit cause you can cut the cables as long as you need them. The catch is that the solder less system is comparably inferior to soldered cables. Did an AB with some of those cheap ones you get free and the tone is better but you do lose a bit of volume in the tightrope not a lot and probably not even noticeable once everything is plugged in. The final test was against some elc lava patch cables I ordered before. Those things are the bomb. Save your tone and just go for the elc kit with solders.

Great cables!
Great cables!!! I love em! Took some fooling around. Got a little frustrated at first, but once you get the knack... they work GREAT! My best advice... there's a small picture in the back of the packaging that gives you some instruction. Cut the cables as close to the image provided as possible and it should work perfectly. Enjoy!!

these are great. Buy them
These work exactly as described, so from that perspective I'd give them five stars. If you're already on board with the idea of solderless cables, these are great. Buy them. Having said that, I didn't feel that these saved me any effort over making soldered cables (aside from the soldering, obviously). In fact, you really have to be more precise when you strip these than when making cables with soldered plugs. It's a really neat idea, though, and the low-profile plugs are great for pedalboards.

Great fit for tight spacing, but fails after time
I bought this kit to wire up my pedalboard about 4 years ago. So I'm coming back to write a review after using for the last 4 years! The good:- These cables have very small connectors, much smaller than pancake connectors or other right-angle connectors. I am able to fit my pedals very close together, making efficient use of pedalboard space. Connecting stereo pedals is a breeze, unlike some other patch cables which can interfere with each other if they are adjacent.- The wires hold their shape. Whatever shape you flex the wire into, it stays in that position. I really like this. The wires are thin, but well-shielded and sturdy.- Audio quality is excellent, when the internal connection is good. (More on this later.)- It is great to make cables exactly the needed length! Makes for very clean wiring.- Cables and plugs can be easily removed and installed, so it is highly reusable.- I have been using these cables on my pedalboard for years now, with multiple rearrangements/re-wiring, and still working. The bad:- It is delicate work to strip the cables correctly and plug them into the connectors. It took me some practice and some bad connections before I got the hang of it. It is important to check each cable after assembling it, and wiggle it around a bunch to make sure the connection is solid.- The cables lose their internal connection over time. When I first installed them all, they were solid and sounded great. But after some time (about 2 years for me), each internal connection at the plug starts to get finicky, and wiggling the wires makes the sound crackly, or cut out altogether. I have had to disconnect the plug from each end of every wire, and reattach them. In some cases, I had to strip a little more to get a good connection re-established. Almost every cable has started to fail in this way, after some time, and I had to pull the plugs off and re-attach them. At first I wasn't sure what was happening, and I thought one of my pedals had a bad switch, but no, it was the cables. Slight wiggling would disrupt the connection, making it quieter and then louder again. Not cool.- I have been able to re-attach all the plugs and all the cabling works again. I can wiggle everything around, and nothing is loose or crackly. But based on past experience, I may need to remove and re-attach all the connectors again in a couple years.Summary:I like these cables. When they work, they're great. But I would prefer something that doesn't lose connection over time. I may end up buying traditional soldered patch cables instead.

Perfect cables without hardly a failure.
Heads are slightly smaller than George L's. Connection is darn solid. If it goes in and snaps, then it will usually pass the test and work. Cannot say that about George L's cables. This is a blend of old school and new school pedal patch wire creation.

Three Stars
Crappy instruction. Being a rookie not so easy to make the Cables work.

Good luck to you....
Awful. Glad I'm not at a gig trying to fix a problem. Used George L's for years. Never a problem. NEVER. Decided to try something different. Built many boards so it is not like I'm new to this. The directions on the package are vague. Its not what they tell you, it is what they don't. Like how long to leave the copper lead. Or to remove the black jacket around the white core. Just pictures that may or may not be accurate. Now I have a bunch of connectors with an extra .0625 stuck in the hole where the copper core sheared off, making them useless. Should not have to watch a how to video to put one of these things together. Waste of time and money. I'm sure they sound great, but not worth the hassle when George L's are sooooooo much simpler to assemble. and you can make a cable quickly at a gig in the dark and trust it will work.
