Review: Great product! - It's great and does what I want! There is a slight hum from the fan, but it's also sitting on my desk.
Review: Built to Last and Very Fast 👍 Great for a Security Camera DVR - Wow, JBOD drives from another housing brand just popped right up. Fast and very well made, all metal and sturdy. I won’t buy another brand now that these are available as empty enclosures. I prefer to supply my own drives, prices are all over the place so I bought some before the great tariff wars of the mid 2020’s. The less expensive version of the two does not include SoftRAID software to “stripe” drives together. Although, MacOS used to be able to do that natively so check into it. Great price, I’ve been shopping OWC Mac products for decades now. I connected mine with a 1m Apple Thunderbolt 5 cable, check into that as well, Apple does not skimp on their cables. Worth every penny to keep your data safe, mine is a gulping down security camera video.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well...noisy
*by M***I on October 16, 2025*

Excellent product...just be aware that the fan is not whisper quiet. Good enough for most work but, because this enclosure sits in my dual purpose edit/mix room, I cannot use an open mic without contamination from the fan noise. None the less, for most users this is a great product.
