I originally purchased this to be part of my camping bag. I got it mostly as a back-up lighter (I've got to have a Zippo, but the fuel evaporates quickly, so never a sure thing) and secondarily for the flashlight. I used it on one weekend trip, then promptly forgot about it until we went camping again this year, when I re-discovered it and began to really appreciate it as an everyday tool.For camping it worked great. It works brilliantly to light the gas for a propane burner, and the flashlight is super convenient and bright enough for both walking to the tent and holding in your mouth as you rummage through your backpack :-). But keeping it handy as a tool around the house since then, I've been impressed. The flashlight on my phone is convenient but not always ideal, and this one easily fills in the gaps when needed. As autumn is approaching and I've pulled out candles in the evening, I've found the lighter to work better on candles than I would have expected. Bring on the hygge!I like that it's rechargeable, and no issues with the battery life. I used it as much as I needed this year when camping on the charge I initially gave it last year. I've charged it once since, and it's continued to do everything I've needed it to in the couple of months since. A fun little tool that I'll use for a long time!

Bought a few of these as stocking stuffers and these lighters are pretty cool. They charge instead of needing butane. The only issue with these lighters is the flame is very small and the lighter wide, making it difficult to light some candles. It's definitely meant more for smoking. They seem durable and function exactly the way they're suppose to. There's a flashlight on the bottom and you can lock the lighter closed for safety. There's also a lanyard so a few people I have it to hung it where they smoke the most. Great price, especially for saving you money on butane. Most refillable lighters break quickly anyway.

I haven't tested these but instead relied on the many reviews & the manufacturer's claims. While I haven't used them for lighting a wood fire they easily light candles, and the exposed electrodes make the electric arc extend outward instead of between four narrow electrodes like the first one I bought before finding these. The LED is bright enough that I could illuminate my back fence through the patio door so it'd be much better than using a $1000 smartphone with a dimmer light. If you were in an emergency situation the whistle will be far louder than most people can shout for help, and less tiring as well. I got them for making individual emergency kits like FEMA & the Red Cross suggest to deal with emergencies like severe storms. We've had multi day power outages on more than one instance either in my area or in nearby counties. These are lightweight so they'd be easy to carry along with other basic emergency supplies. Frankly I hope to never need to use them but I'd much rather have one & not need it than need it & not have it! I got one for each family member.

Works Great.

The best part about this product is its overall carry design. It slimly slips into a small pocket and packs an amazing piezoelectric, double-locked, end as well as a three-stage light for HIGH, LOW, and FAST STROBE. When my alternator failed on my truck, I was able to drive home on a new moon (no light) night and this amazing tool was my primary headlights as I couldn't power my headlights! Did I mention the good battery life?

The media could not be loaded. It does lose charge fast. It will last maybe three days with a full charge and you use as your go to lighter. Other than that, it works great.

I love this thing! I was very surprised by how bright the flashlight was! Definitely makes it a usable survival/emergency tool. My only issue is that based on the design of the lighter, it does make it difficult to light anything that doesn't "protrude" (candle wicks and I'm sure cigarettes, etc. are fine). Still would recommend for sure.
