Story's End (Storybound Book 2)

This book picks up where the first left off. There's no recap so I wouldn't wait too long between them. The action starts from page one as Una and her friends go looking for the things needed to stop the enemy before he can rewrite Story. The denizens of Story give us readers a mix of mystery, sorrow, and determination as you find yourself cheering for these written creations trying to save their world.I absolutely loved the morals and truths both hidden and in plain sight throughout this book. The knowledge that kids can learn that where they come from, who their family is, they have all the power they need to write their own stories. and even as adults, we do too. I think we forget that. Making a mistake doesn't someone a villain, and everyone deserves a chance to fix a wrong.I give this book 5 of 5 paws. I Cant wait to see what my children think of this amazing duology.

Like the subject line says, I thought the idea was intriguing, but on the whole the story just didn't really engage me. Whereas I'm normally the kind of reader that stays up until all hours of the night (or morning, as the case may be) and can't bear to put a book down to eat or use the bathroom, this book didn't rivet me enough to make me miss a meal, lose sleep, or hold it.I have a hard time putting my finger on exactly what didn't work for me, but I think a lot of it was that I just didn't feel very drawn into the story...where the idea was interesting, the execution was flat, DOA. It was plotted well enough to get me through it, but the pacing was slow, and the characters relatively undeveloped. Oh, sure, they had some "backstory," but they weren't--for the most part--rich, interesting, nuanced characters. This was true with the exception of Kai, Indie, Snow, Snow's Mother, and the Red Enchantress...all supporting characters. Una and Peter, the two characters the story starts out with way back in book 1 become largely cardboard cut-outs by the end of book 2, just going through the motions required by the plot. I would have been happier if Una had been Written Out shortly after she was Written In and the story focused on everyone else.I found myself wishing the book had been rewritten to focus on Snow, her Mother, the Muses, the Enchantress, and all the elements that the author infused with excitement. It was weird, really, but it was a book (and series) filled with extremes: some parts and characters were fun and well written, whereas others were bland and took effort to get through. Those were normally the parts that I found myself putting the book down and going to do other things. It almost felt like the author powered through the writing of some parts of the book that she wasn't excited about and it came across on the page.In any case, I just felt bummed at the end that such an excellent idea had not been done better. Basically the best parts of the series mostly involved other characters other than the main character (Una), which is kind of a problem.

It is a two part series that only work as two parts of a whole. But as an entire whole they work tremendously. Una is a girl who loves to read and has been "written in" to the world of story. She is from the readers world and finds this world of story where every story character has more story than readers ever know.When she accidentally releases the Enemy of Story, he begins the plans for Story's End. As the hero of the series it is up to Una to stop him.This is where Story's End picks up and races toward the ending. Story's End is filled with the same magic that made Storybound great. I highly recommend this book for all fans of Storybound but also fans of Inkheart, Land of Stories and ABC's Once Upon a Time.

It got here a week early, the cover is very nice, there were a couple stickers on it but they were easily removed. I bought it as a gift so I can’t say too much about the story itself but I’m sure the person I got it for will love it.

Good story line. My 12 year old enjoyed it

This is an allegorical book for young adult readers that is great for adults as well. It is book 2 in the Storybound series.

Definitely make sure you've read Storybound first. And if you read Storybound, you'll definitely want to make sure you have this sequel handy; really more like two parts of the same book.Overall, the books are solidly fun and interesting young adult fantasy. It's a neat premise and the characters are reasonably well done. I would be happy to read more books that are part of this universe. That said, it is fairly standard YA fantasy, somewhat predictable and nothing exceptionally new.

I originally got Storybound as a free offer for my 8yo daughter's e-reader. I'd read a chapter each night as her bedtime story, but I found myself reading ahead a lot, just to see what happens next. When we finished, I bought Story's End so we could continue. This time, she was the one reading ahead! I had to go back and re-read the book because I couldn't keep up with her. She LOVED it!! With an interesting plot, characters with depth to them, and a suspenseful pace, there's enough to this YA lit book to keep readers of any age happy.

Es handelt sich bei "Story's End" um den zweiten Teil einer Duologie von Marissa Burt.Der erste Teil heißt "Storybound".Una Fairchild, die Protagonistin, die im ersten Teil in das Land Story hineingeschrieben wurde, hat mehr über ihre Vergangenheit erfahren und versucht nun, der Welt der Charaktere zu helfen. Immerhin ist sie Schuld daran, dass die Bücher der Musen zerstört wurden und die rote Zauberin ("Red Enchantress") in der Lage war, den Feind von Story, Fidelus, aus seinem Buch zu befreien. An ihrer Seite stehen nicht nur tapfere Freunde, sondern auch neue Verbündete, und vielleicht gelingt es Una, den Plänen des Feindes etwas entgegen zu setzen.
