Crotons are among some of the boldest houseplants because of their colorful foliage, characterized by their often bright yellow, orange, red, and even black leaves. A resilient houseplant that's great for beginners, Petra Croton's bold, variegated foliage is infused with shades of red, orange and yellow. Wide leaves are tapered at both ends and feature prominent veins. On rare occasions, white, puffy blooms may appear on a thin vine. Makes a gorgeous focal point in any room or on a covered patio and acts as a natural air purifier. To provide ideal indoor conditions, mist your plant regularly or place near a humidifier. Mildly toxic to pets and people, if consumed. Codiaeum. Place your croton where it will receive six to eight hours of bright, unfiltered sunlight each day.. Maintain a consistent temperature between 60 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Irrigate moderately and infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Water about once per week for outdoor plants.
