They always work good. I use them on vehicles every day. They never dry up and stay good for years

Great paint pen
Great paint pen. Price is reasonable and even a few $$ cheaper than in my local store.

Ignore the bad reviews
These pens work as designed. The paint is good. The keys to getting top results include:Prep your surface!!! Clean, free of dirt, grease, wax, etc.Your surface should be dry.Shake the pen. Walk around for a few minutes shaking it while you do other tasks. You need to hear the agitator going freely. Once you hear it going freely, continue shaking for a couple of minutes.Shake the pen periodically while working. Keep the consistency of the paint. You do need to pump the tip a couple to a half dozen times to get good flow.Be gentle with the tip. It's just felt!! Pump it gently. Once the paint flow begins, STOP PUMPING.If the paint flow slows or stops, cap the pen. Shake it a few times. Uncap and pump the tip once or twice. If you keep pumping the tip while you work you will end up with a flood of paint.Take your time!!! If you see something isn't going well, STOP. Assess what you are doing and what's going wrong.

pretty good
I got this to do some touch up on backlit switches in my car. The original paint had chipped off in spots and light was shining through. I found the pen paint a little thin. I had to do 3 coats to get the result I needed, but application of the paint was precise and dried quickly. I suppose that the paint has to be thinner in order to flow through the tip so I should have expected what I got. Overall the pen did a great job and is a good concept. I'm glad I got it. Worked out better than a brush.

Works great for touching up oil-based gloss enamel paint
I use this to touch up any nicks in the garage cabinets I painted black with Rust-Oleum's Professional High Performance Protective Enamel in Gloss Black (7779), and it works great. It goes on smooth and the color/finish blends right in, so I can't even tell where the nicks were after about an hour of drying time. A lot of people use that enamel paint for their vehicles, gates, appliances, etc., and knowing that such a perfect touch up pen exists for the enamel paint gives me some other ideas about what else I want to paint with it.

Poor result on nonporous surface (metal, glass, etc)
This might work great on porous surfaces, but I attempted to use it on a metal surface and it just pooled up and ran. I tried to apply it in several thin coats, but each additional coat simply thinned and loosened the prior coats. Based on the other reviews, this wasn't what I was expecting, but the results for my application were disappointing. Still giving it 3 stars, because I do believe it would perform well on other materials.
