Will do more purchases from them in future.Had its maiden flight 3/29 to get a feel of the controls, as suggested by veteran/experts from YouTube. It is a SWEET flyer!!!Cannot give 5 stars yet until I tryout the drone’s main features: Way Point, POI, Follow me, Orbit modes and also the Video and Photo modes.Like a baby learning to walk, am mastering the drones characteristics, and responses to the controls.The most important things are: do not fly without a minimum of 6 GPS satellites detected and your phone should be always be connected to internet so it can always acquire the Google map of the location where you are flying; to avail of drone’s main features.

This drone is great, I had watched tons of reviews on this and I was still amazed at how good it flew within ten minutes of getting a box. My range was pretty good I used my iPhone alone and got about 100m and then tried the relay booster and my best so far is 440m with tons of WiFi and trees(I live in a large mobile home facility), for getting a great drone and booster this item is great, better range and handling and camera then I expected. I also purchased the ht011 controller which says range is 400m but I fly every day and my average range is 800+ giving what the weather is like.

Hubsan H501A X4 is the ideal beginner's drone for casually capturing footage and taking pictures. It may not have as many advanced features as other more expensive drones, but it definitely does the job for those who are just starting out or aren't very tech savvy. Its many controls and features are rather simple to use and the video quality stands out at 1080pHD resolution. Smartphone app works well. Stable flight with good GPS accuracy and great range with phone relay extender.

I have to say, this is one of the best drones that I have flown. It is very easy to control. There is no lag when you control it from the cell phone. It’s fun to fly and it holds it position very well in the wind. Plus, it had a good flight time. I am very pleased with this drone.

Thankfully I have both basic and advanced controllers from 2 h501s models which I seem to use with the h501a more than with the app..the app crashes alot and it is difficult to get maps to download to use the waypoint feature with this quad..all in all the h501a is more stable than my h501s 's

It gets 1 star for customer service. Bought this unit a couple weeks ago. The drone it self works well. Unfortunately I bought it with on battery, and the battery is defective. Tried gettin ahold of hubsan like it says to do and of course they tried to pass it on to the seller. Which said to contact hubsan. So another company that wants your money but doesn’t want to back there products!

Ich empfinde es als großen Vorteil, dass diese Drohne mit unterschiedlichen Methoden gesteuert werden kann:1. Nur mit der Hubsan App - mit vergleichsweise geringer Reichweite (WIFI) - max 50m2. Mit der App und dem beiliegenden Repeater - immer noch WIFI, aber mit größerer Reichweite3. Mit dem Controller HT011A als Repeater und der App, aber Steuerung über den Controller, immer noch WIFI, aber größere Reichweite4. Mit HT011A im 2.4G Modus, ohne App, mit dem Nachteil der fehlenden technischen Kontrolle über die App was Flugzeit, Akkustand, Entfernung, Höhe etc angeht.Es gibt noch weitere, wenn man andere Controller zur Verfügung hat, aber das sind die, die ich probiert habe. Meine bisher bevorzugte Methode ist die 4.Die Drohne fliegt sehr stabil, auch bei Wind ist sie gut zu kontrollieren. Die Videos sind gemäß der Bauart unruhig, da keine Kamerastabilisierung eingebaut ist, trotzdem sind sie, vor allem nach Stabilisierung am Computer sehr brauchbar.Die verschiedenen Flugmodi wie Waypoint, Rotation, Return home, Follow me sind für mich nicht so spannend. Ich habe vor allem deshalb eine GPS Drohne gekauft, weil sie bei Loskassen der Steurung bleibt wo sie gerade ist. Das funktioniert ganz gut.Den einen Stern Abzug gibt es wegen der folgenden Punkte:1. Es gibt keinen ein/aus Schalter. Man schaltet ein durch Verbinden des Akkusteckers mit dem Stecker der Drohne und umgekehrt2. Vor jedem Flug ist die Kompass-Kalibrierung durchzuführen. Dass ist zwar schnell gemacht, aber trotzdem lästig. Besonders, wenn man das ohne App im 2.4G Mode macht und nur die Leds an der Drohne zur Kontrolle hat.Nichts desto trotz würde ich mir die Drohne wieder kaufen.Ich weise noch darauf hin, dass die Drohne unter die seit 2017 geltende Kennzeichnungspflicht fällt. Abfluggewicht ist ca 470g.

This was a replacement for a 501S (that flew away). On it's first flights I was using it with the H904 controller and it was looking just fine. Was flying out to a distance of ~500m while maintaining video feed and perfect controller response.But flight #3 for some reason I will never know, it just blacked out on the controller screen and stopped responding, disappearing over a row of trees and into who-knows who's back yard. The drone was always calibrated, took off at 8+v, and was at over 7.5V on the battery when it went missing.Hubsan have been make new a variants on their drones very quickly - 501S, 501SS, 501A. I suppose that's innovation. But it doesn't make for a pleasant consumer experience.EDIT: 2018-08-27 I've upgraded this back to 4 stars. I recently tried a Mavic Air - a drone costing 4 times the price of this and the Mavic is nowhere near as much fun as the Hubsan 501S/A are.

This is a top notch drone at a really good price point. Bought as a shared purchase with my son and after much research in to a sub £200 drone with HD camera, we were not disappointed. Although my son (25) was very proficient out of the box it took me (55) a wee bit longer. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get my head round it but in a wide open field after about 10 minutes of flying I had got it - it is so easy to control and to be safe with (no crashes yet).We use the mobile app for flying and I was surprised at how easy it is to use - worried about what its doing then just take thumbs off of the screen and it stabilizes. Hit the return to home button and it comes home safely.Other than flying into something there really is nothing to worry about - it is all taken care of until you get more skilled when you can experiment and of course get some amazing shots from the on-board camera which is superb quality for this money. We are really happy with the purchase and have supplemented it with 2 more batteries for longer flying.

Das ist eine tolle Drohne für Anfänger. Die leichte Bedienung über das Smartphone macht sie außerdem noch sehr kompakt, dadurch muss man nicht noch eine zusätzliche Fernbedienung mitschleppen. Es gibt noch einen Repeater mit dazu der die Reichweite um ein vielfaches erhöt. Ich habe es noch nicht geschafft die Drohne außer Reichweite zu fliegen. Die Aufnahmen der HD Kamera können sich sehen lassen. Toll ist auch das wenn die Drohne mal abstürzt man sie durch das GPS sehr schnell wieder finden kann. Außerdem liefert die Kamera weiter Bilder. Alles natürlich nur wenn die Kamera nicht total geschrottet wird. Die Akkus halten bis zu 20min bei 1 bis 2 Ersatzakkus hat man schon eine gute Flugzeit. Die Follow me Funktion eignet sich bestens um Wanderungen oder Radtouren von oben zu filmen. Der einmal eingestellte Abstand und die Höhe wird gehalten und folgt einem auf Schritt und Tritt. Wenn man die Fernbedienung loslässt bleibt die Drohne auf der Stelle und Höhe einfach stehen. Nicht vergessen: Die Drohne muss versichert sein (meist in der Haftpflichtversicherung schon mit drin) und sie muss mit den Daten vom Eigentümer gekennzeichnet sein. ( Aluschild mit Lasergravur)

Der Quadcopter sieht gut aus, lässt sich gut fliegen und hat viel Funktionen. Die Bedienung per Smartphone anfangs etwas schwierig, vor allem wenn man wie ich noch nie eine Drohne eben über ein solches Gerät gesteuert habe. Doch nach kurzer Eingewöhnungszeit geht es ganz gut. Der Akku der Drohne hält wie versprochen ca. 20min, und die Flugeigenschaft finde ich auch klasse. Sie hält ihre Position wenn man sie in der Luft parkt auch wenn es etwas Windiger ist. Kamera ist ganz Okay, die Videoaufzeichnungen kann man sie durchaus anschauen, nur sollte man immer daran denken, dass die H501A keine DJI Phantom ist. Meine Lieblings Funktion, ist das abfliegen von Wegpunken, die man der Drohne per Smartphone übermittelt.
