LOVE this Atlas and HIGHLY recommend it
As an eleven year old, I traveled from Bogalusa, Louisiana in 1967 to the Montreal World Expo w my sister and grandparents, using their Rand McNally road atlas to camp our way to Ontario back to South Louisiana. This may be my third Atlas I've had over my life from Rand McNally, and I hope I will always be able to get another in the future, now that I'm a retired RN, ready to travel all over America with my husband!! There is nothing better than to know where we are going, using this exquisite road atlas that has details and easy to follow maps like nothing else in the USA!! My daddy the civil engineer taught me how to use maps and this atlas is the GOLD STANDARD for LIFE!!

Easy to read.
Great large Hwy map. Easy to read and see. Being spiral bound, it lies flat when open. Rand McNally is a long time trusted name.

Sturdy Large map with wipeable cover and a little bit sturdier inner map pages.
I loved the cover and the spiral binder . I can use this for light residental use. But for me giving it to my relatives the inner sheets still need some help. So I would wish for at least the spiral area to be coated enough to stop rips. But also I would like what you might call a one coat worths thicker for all of the sheets and still a thicker spiral area. But for the serious driver you need to go the whole way with pages coated enough to not rip and to be able follow where you need to go with a marker pen and then to wipe it off if you don’t want to keep it. But with parents driving young children . It would be nice to have these routes copied and given to them. There are lots of uses some one can use these for. Mine are dead and I’d like to go to some burial sites or just the homes. But the info is gone in their brain. I have finally given up looking for some as I can get to some freeway off ramp but no further. And you need to have some thing with more durability. I’m told all of the time. It’s on the internet but that’s a lie. Even though there is some maybe 25 percent truth to that but don’t tell my brain and fingers that after two hours of googling.to find somewhere that my memories are ant to go but you can’t find. And the number of times a fire department tells me that adddess doesn’t exist because it was never finished and nobody there knows how to find any more information. It’s to small a town.

Great Atlas
This was purchased for several road trips, especially to help grandchildren learn how to use a road map. Everyone wants to use "phone map apps" and we wanted them to learn to use this alternative. It is great fun when their apps are wrong, or can't get service, that they have learned to have this backup. The children have seen the benefit and actually enjoy looking at all the surrounding areas in reference to their home, or where we are headed. Map was well made, and print large enough for all age groups. Very sturdy and no errors that we can detect. Highly recommend.

Good Atlas for planning.
I like this Atlas for planning and plotting trips in advance. Between the Atlas and our GPS it makes navigating pretty easy. The Atlas is big and if you plan on someone using it in your vehicle as you are driving down the road I would suggest another plan as many of the states are on multiple pages and again it’s big. The search grid in the back is very helpful and accurate for finding towns on the various maps. It’s a really nice Atlas, great quality and construction, really good price, and very handy for planning your trips. We take it on trips with us but only use it when we’re stopped and planning our next leg of the journey.

Rand McNally continues to deliver!
Rand McNally sets the standard when it comes to road atlases. I buy an updated one every year. It's nice to see the big picture and being able to plan my own route, rather than Google telling me where to go. Since the 2023 Large Scale edition now includes Canada and Mexico, it gave me even more reason to buy it. I like that it is spiral bound. I also like the larger print, since it's easier on my eyes. My only criticism is that since these maps are at a larger scale, some of the place names are chopped up in the middle, although there is slight overlap between the pages to help mitigate that issue. Also, the states are divided into more pages, so there's more page flipping involved. Overall, I do not regret this purchase and I look forward to using it on my next trip.

You might not have a signal
Especially around where I live---too many mountains. Chances are pretty good, too, that you will travel to see mountains. If you don't have a paper map, good luck with navigation.Prefer map books. I have fold-out paper maps, too, but prefer map books. Got used to them, I suppose, when I was driving truck (that's a highway tractor with a trailer not a pick-em-up truck).

great size, we intend to use for trip planning, bit big in the car
all planning stage so far, haven't gone on any trips with it yet. google maps is fine but it's nice to have a physical map, something big and easy to read that i dont have to worry about battery life or mindless app updates and advertiser spying to use. I love all the additional info included such as mileage charts and so much other stuff. the coil binding is great, the pages turn easy. Just ordered the midsize one to use in the car, this one we decided will stay in the hosue more for planning. There doesnt seem to be much in the way of topographical info, but tons of other info.

Easy to read maps
It's Rand McNally, so the maps are gorgeous and you can use it for real time route information and know that it is accurate. It is also an excellent reference book and will answer your questions about where someplace is. There is one issue that is unavoidable, the maps have seams where the map breaks. Nothing is lost there, you can just use your camera and match the two pages seamlessly that way. As for myself, the seams don't really bother me.

An Amazing Road Atlas
For many years, more than I would like to even count, I have used the Rand McNally Large Scale Road Atlas to both plan and use on extended, and even short trips in the USA and Canada. The detail is incredibly accurate and also very interesting. In these days of electronic maps and charts, it’s wonderful to have a hard copy such as that provided by Rand McNally.

easy to read
live that this map book is easy to read. wonder if I would like it more if the adjoining states were on the next or previous page instead of in the book alphabetically, especially when planning a long trip.
