No it really wouldn't be good for that. Wirquin does have other models and you might be able to find something better for your application. Just Google "Wirquin" and it should get you to them.

Dose the top collar work with a standard drain gate or is the one that comes with it required?

See "roundabout" answer to "Q: Will it work with shower base 3 3/4" hole". Also, as an addendum to both questions, your local building codes may factor into your decision to use this product. We've had ours installed for about 2 months and we are satisfied with the way it works. We really didn't have a workable way to use the standard US p trap because of our particular situation.

Does it work as a P trap or no ?

I used it as a p trap, it drains slower but still works well. Been about 6 most since I installed.

will it work with shower base 3 1/4 " hole?

Search for Jones Stephens 2" IPS Combination Drain Trap with 4" Chrome Plated Strainer. It's cast iron and not cheap but it's 2" and should work as a standard 2" shower drain. I have minimum space for a basement shower that I'm installing with a macerating toilet and don't want to chip out any concrete for the p-trap.
