This is my second couche. The first was of lesser quality. This one is very nice. The old I did not rub with flour and some dough stuck to it. I am using this one and have no problem with dough sticking. I would recommend it as a good product

I use this all the time when making french bread loaves. The large size allows me to make 4 long loaves at once. It's' easy to clean, a quick shake and brush off and done. Well made.

I've been baking bread for a long time, and this was my first experience using a couche. Works really, really well and I'm glad I graduated to using this. When if first comes it is folded and quite stiff. Within a few uses it is nice and soft and flexible. No need to wash it, just make sure you flour it generously!

I was waffling about getting one of these for years, not sure if the infrequent attempts at French breads justified the space in my little kitchen. I went ahead and got it and I'm happy I did. I'm still unproven as a French baker, but I made some baguettes a week prior to getting this and then a week after it arrived. The ones before were not bad, a little flattened, but not crummy. The ones after, with the same recipe, were as the packaging suggests, better formed and had a better crust. They say the fiber wicks away moisture from this wet dough, and it's definitely true. I found the proven baguettes easier to handle as I moved them to the baking pan and they formed a slightly better crust. If you want to raise your bread game, you kne- need to get this (sorry, almost lost it).

This heavy linen couche is nearly identical to the couche I used at a recent baguette baking class that I attended at a local bakery. It holds flour easily (much better than a cotton cloth), it holds its shape when folded up to support my rising baguettes, and it releases them onto a transfer peel after they've risen. My dough hasn't stuck yet after 6 uses over 3 weeks. To clean, I shake off the flour and hang the couche on the line - as the flour and fabric dry, the flour falls off. I have not tried to wash it.
