The product was easy to use. The change was instant, and the colour changed over the whole pond was interesting to observe.

We've only had a pond for a year now and learned from the previous owner about this product. It wasn't until Jun 2025 that I put in our first application. I added one more 4 mo later; before the winter. So it's a little early to judge if it's doing everything it's supposed to, but it certainly did make the pond blue! Before and after pics attached.

(In case you don't read the full review: My dad tried several other name brands of pond dye, but he still had algae blooms throughout the spring and summer. This product also contains beneficial bacteria to clear the water, and I had zero algae in my pond and zero affect to the fish. Getting a 2-in-1 product saved me $ and yielded better results than just dye.) I have a stocked 1/2-acre pond that's 40 years old. The summer of 2020 started hot early, resulting in a major algae bloom, with half the pond covered. I got a professional algae treatment, but further treatments would cost $300 a month. After doing a lot of research, I chose this product (Nature's Blue color) from reviews, and because it was budget friendly. I poured half of the gallon along the edges of the pond, and let it disperse naturally. The color wasn't as rich as I was hoping for, but I was eyeballing it, and likely didn't use enough product for the pond size, as the pond is 12 feet deep, and the instructions cite a 6-foot depth. I didn't have one spot of algae the entire 2020 summer, which turned out to be one of the hottest on record. So, success! I used the second half of the gallon about 8 weeks later (August) when I noticed the color disappearing. It's now late November 2020, and my pond still has a soft blue color. Most importantly, the pond was absolutely no work because this product gave me a 100% clean pond from spring right into winter. And no harm to the fish. UPDATE: This pond dye really sticks. I live in a cold winter state. When the pond froze over on occasion, it was a beautiful light blue against the white snow. Now here it is late April 2021. The pond expert told me that many of his clients already have half of their ponds covered with algae due to the early hot days this spring. My pond is still clear of any algae -- from last year's fall treatment. I had bought the Plus version with beneficial bacteria.
