Calphalon Unisex Commercial Hard Anodized 13-Piece Set Gray

I can't say enough for Caphalon. I've owned their products since before they branded themselves as Caphalon. This equipment heats rapidly and evenly. You actually need to be careful because cook times will be shorter. Boiling happens faster. Pay attention!One of the things I've always enjoyed about this equipment is that you generally don't have the problem of sauces burned to the bottom of the pan while not fully cooked at the top. Less stirring is required due to the even heat transfer up the sides of the pots.I also enjoy the new handles on the lids and pots. They stay cool while cooking. They do warm up, but you can remove the lids without using a pot-holder, unless you are cooking at very high temps for a long time. The pot handles just stay cool. Great design.So far the hard-anodized finish is nice and easy enough to clean. It isn't really a non-stick finish, but I've found that non-stick finishes tend to wear out faster. I wanted to try hard-anodized hoping for a longer lasting finish. The last set I purchased from them was in 1996 or 1997 and the usefulness of them far out lasted the non-stick finish. Seems like the non-stick finish began to wear out somewhere around 2004 or 2006. I finally decided to retire them to get something new this year, but we were still using them daily.Seems like less than oh say $35 per year for great equipment is a bargain.

I do not mean to be over dramatic - but I get sick to my stomach at the amount I spent on this set. I had such high hopes. I am an experienced cook, so thought I would try a "chef" like product. After just three months the finish has started to come off of the sauce pan. (Yes, I purchased the anodized cleaner and even watched the entire care video for the set.) EVERYTHING sticks to these pans and they take far more care than I have time for. I guess professional chefs have a staff to wash up for them. I am so bummed that I chose this set, thinking it was going to be so awesome and fun to work with. The return date passed with the seller after just 30 days. So be very careful before you choose this finish. So disappointed.

Warning: Do not buy these if you are not a good cook. Just get some cheap nonstick pots and pans until you get better at it. Then, when you do, buy this set.This set is high quality, durable, looks great and heats up evenly...even on my old gas stove. You can use whatever utensil you want. They are professional grade and will last for years. Clean up is easy.I bought a pot rack and a lid rack and hung the pots and pans up over the sink so after I wash them they can drip dry into the sink. Perfect.

I bought this set to replace my old set of non-stick Calphalon Commercial pots and pans that I purchased in 1994 that the non-stick coating had finally worn off of. I really regret buying this set. I’ve had them several years now. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING sticks to them. They are nowhere near the quality of my old set either. I kept reaching past the new set to use the old ones.I actually sold them on the Nextdoor app for $20. The buyer said she knew how to use hard anodized pans. She returned them to me!I finally found a company that could recoat my old pans. Cost me $250 but I have my old pans back and love them again. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing these.

These are not non stick, so dont buy them expecting them to be non stick. You need to treat them more like stainless when your cooking. If youve never used stainless, then google how to cook with this type of pans. They cook very evenly, and het up quite rapidly. I was using cheap non stick before, and they had all chipped away, as expected. I look forward to the durability of these pots and pans. I really like using them to cook with, the pans are amazing! The heat transfers to all parts, so even if your chicken is stuck on the side of the pan, it will still cook evenly like the rest of the meat. You will need to preheat the pan obviously to get these results, but it will work. Buy Olive oil as soon as you buy these. Must have.The one thing that frustrated me (and is the reason im downgrading) was that the first ones i received all had knicks or gouges in them. Brand new fresh out of the box. Sent them back, and when i got the next set, only one had a knick in it. Apparently, calphalon needs to spend a few extra bucks on packing material.Overall, i love the pots and pans, and they look amazing. Food doesnt stick as much as stainless, but you will get the same results as stainless, without the worries of non stick chipping away when you accidently use metal utensils.

after reading a ton of the reviews i chose to continue with my purchase of these pans. First off, build quality is top notch, i am really shocked at how well these were put together.now to the cons, every fish i have tried to make sticks like crazy no matter how much oil or butter is being used. its not the best for delicate items. that being said these pans are pretty great for burgers, and for chicken.now my real issue. i am an avid hookah smoker and chose to use my pot with some water, a tad bit of vinegar and some baking soda to clean some parts. after boiling my hookah bowls for about 30 minutes i turned off the pot. took out the bowls cleaned them and to my dismay there was 4 large circle almost burns at the bottom of the pot. i dont know if this was because of some sort of chemical reaction or what but it destroyed the pan and took the entire bottom down to just plain aluminimum

these are not great....had such high hopes for new pots and pans. everythings sticks when cooking, cleanup is a pain and can't go in dishwasher

My wife really enjoys cooking with Calphalon cookware. It looks nice, has easy clean up, and very well balanced with even heat distribution. This set was a replacement for her set of Calphalon cookware that I bought for her over 10 years ago. She wouldn't even consider another brand for replacement. She really likes the glass lids ( her old set had stainless lids ), and she hasn't had any issues at all with the non stick interior of this set that other people have made reference to. The price for this set was fantastic.....we just couldn't pass it up.
