Acer Aspire Gaming Desktop, 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7700, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, 16GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, GX-785-UR19

I've had the Acer about a week. It seems to work very well except one item, the CD/DVD drive but other than that it is fast and has done everything that I wanted. Contacted Acer customer service but didn't receive any help and actually got hung up on or disconnected, not sure which. Going to call them again on Monday and see what they will do about the drive. Hopefully they will send me a new drive that I can swap out. Computer doesn't recognize the drive at all. Once I get their OK to open the case hopefully I can find the problem and get it resolved. Don't really want to send it back due to the hassle but if I must then I'll buy something locally as this is the second desktop I've purchased and the first one went back(different brand) 3 weeks ago. I have a program called Belarc Advisor that finds the DVD drive so I assume that it is plugged in correctly. Will update review once I find out what Acer customer service has to say.Updated 7/29/17Figured out the DVD drive and it works. I don't have a problem recommending it to anyone. It works as it should and runs everything that I use without any problem so far. I will update as I use it more. I did raise my review to 4 stars.

All I Ever Did With My First Acer Was Change The Graphics Card From The On-Board Graphics,To A " AMD Saphire Radeon 5570 Graphics Card Which Ten Years Ago Only Cost Around One Hundred Dollars And Change. That Is All I Ever Did.I Went On World Of Warcraft With That New Acer And Was Really Surprised As To The Performace Of The AMD Card. That Little Tiny Acer WasRunning At Around 150 FPS At High Settings. Not Bad Really For A Tiny Acer Computer Which I Really Did Not Have To Invest An Arm And A LegAnd Like I Stated, That Tiny Acer Lasted Me Ten Years. For A Four Hundred Dollar Investment, I Really Feel That I Got My Money Worth Out OfMy First Acer. But This Past Autmun After We Took Our Air Conditions Out And Put Them In Storage, We Here In New England Had A Really HotHeat Wave And My Apt. Got So Hot That My First Acer Simply Put Just Melted Down. It Got So Hot Inside Of My First Acer And The Plactic HousingTurned So Brittle, That Plastic Was Falling Into The Housing And That's All It Took To Kill My First Acer.This Happened While I Was On Amazon Fire Watching A Movie, And I Never Saw " The Blue Screen Of Death Appear ". I Made FiveAvatars On " World Of WarCraft " Last Week And I Just One Week I Had All Five Avatars Up To lvl 20 So They Could All Have The Mount RidingSkill That You Learn At lvl 20. The Game Runs So Excellent That All Five Avatars Made It To lvl 20 In Just 5 DaysAnd I Swear I Have Never Ever Been Able To Do That Before Or Even Come Close To Something Like That With My Ten Year Old Acer. The PC had gave up on me a month after using it wouldn't boot into windows anymore (most likely due to the cheap intel ssd put into the system). It would constantly reboot in the middle of using it followed by fans going full speed until it reset. With the Intel Core i7 in the system, the cooler cant even adequately cool the cpu with temps reaching in the 90's of celcius and averaging high 80's during gaming sessions (that is too hot for long use and being this is a gaming computer it shouldn't be that hot). Even the GTX 1060 in it feels very cheap with it's no brand plastic shroud and crappy cooler, it's also the 3gb version of the card too which just makes this more of a ripoff. Anyways after shipping this pc too Acer they took 3 months just to tell me they couldn't figure out why it wasn't booting into windows and then they asked me if I wanted a new one so I got the new one and the same problems persisted so I took out the cpu and gpu and put them in a case with new good name brand components and wa la everything worked fine. I since then repurposed the Acer pc as a home pc for mom by putting in a cheap pentium in it and cheap ssd in it.Overall the pc works fine for simple use but as a gaming pc it really sucks. It overheats, randomly reboots, and has so many cheap parts in it that a custom built $500 dollar pc could do better than this overpriced crap!

The computer came in perfect shape, Windows 10 booted right up, and it is far and away the most sophisticated computer I've ever had. It is extremely quiet, and its speed is phenomenal. On Skyrim:Special Edition, I'm getting frame-rates over 200, on Ultra settings. On Witcher 3, the frame-rates are in the 140 area. The graphics are beautiful, and this is the first time I've been able to use HDMI. The computer is "learning" which portion of the Hybrid hard drive to put information on, and I find that very interesting. I would recommend the purchase of this computer to anyone who is an avid gamer, like me.The keyboard and mouse are nothing to write home about, but I already had a brand-new gaming keyboard and mouse, and this wasn't a problem. I'm running my graphics through a 29" monitor, and I honestly didn't know that video games could look so impressive.

the Acer 785 is what i expected. it arrived in perfect condition and setup in minutes. the only reason i don't give it a 5 star rating is the amount of useless software installed on it. i used 4 to 5 hours just removing what is called bloat. after that it was made for me.

Bought this off Amazon a year ago, and am very pleased. With the solid state drive (256gb) it boots up very quickly. Added a third 3TB drive for more data storage and now I am set. Great buy. Could not build one like this at this price.
