I purchased this set of kites to take on a beach vacation with my grandsons -- ages 10 and 7. They have owned kites before, but they would exhaust themselves by running around in circles trying to get the kites into the air -- so they never had a chance to experience the thrill of kite flying. This set of kites changes all of that for them. We took these out onto the beach at dark (when there were fewer people), and the kites were in the air within 2 minutes of taking them out of the package. The boys flew these for almost an hour, and the youngest grandson said that flying his kite was the best thing he liked about the entire day. His kite string later broke loose, and the kite flew away, but this was primarily because the winds were very strong. I purchased these knowing that they would probably be used only during vacation, so the broken string was not a disappointment -- it actually added to the excitement of the experience to see the kite being taken away by the wind. However, I would probably order a stronger type of kite string next time around. These kites get an A+++ from this grandma in terms of the joy they brought to our family vacation. The price was right, too!

Made of a delicate papery nylon material that rips easily. It's almost as if these were made of paper.Both kites have completely fallen apart after just 3 uses. The rods poked right through the kite's sewn in pockets that are supposed to hold the rods in place. I hand sewed the rips to repair the kites after each use but then they just rip at the new stitches.The rainbow colors are bright and the size of the kite is great but if they cannot last for more than just a few uses, then they're worthless. The quality is very poor and unacceptable. Would not re-purchase or recommend.

I set my expectations in accordance with the price and was pleasantly surprised. My boyfriend and I like to fly kites in spring and fall but don't typically expect our purchases to last beyond each kite flying season. I believe these will do the trick and we managed to buy them together saving some $ in the process. Another review noted these as being plastic. To clarify -- the supports are plastic. The kites themselves are material. I'm guessing nylon or something of the like. They are sturdier than some we have purchased in the past. However, this is not heavy duty materials so I'm not expecting them to last much beyond some of the plastic models we have used before. The material makes for a good display of color when they are flying in the sky. They are of a good size that makes them easy to get off the ground and navigate. I typically have trouble with kites of this shape wanting to take a nose dive upon attempting take off. The tails seem to provide stability to help prevent this for the most part. The spool they come with is enough to get you started but we will be changing over to some sturdier and longer string before we go out for our first real flying venture. The trickiest part will be ensuring that the supports stay in tact between flying as these are the points that seem most fragile.

I had almost forgotten, how to fly kite. I was trying to figure out what I can interest my kids in while following Social distancing rules, I decided to give this a shot.Kite is made with what looks like a sturdy plasticky feeling paper. The rod looks like it's broken but it's not, it did take me a bit of time to figure out the instructions, probably because I was not reading it properly.Once set up, we took out to school ground and it was very very easy to get off the ground, it was slightly windy and that definitely helped.The handle is easy to use and makes handling the thread easy, but I did get a little complacent and it slipped out of my hand and up up and away it went.thankfully I had another one and have been handling it carefully.Also next day I saw some kids flying the same kite so it looks sturdy enough :)Definitely worth a shot if you are interested in flying a kite.

Beautiful kite - received a lot of complements.I wish it came with a case - in hindsight, the post office has the tube mailers which would fit this perfectly.And i wish the supports were stronger. Thw supports are made of a very flimsy wood - one support broke easily, but it hasn't been easy to find a replacement.It was not easy to put together or take apart.I recommend this, only if you don't mind disassembling and placing in some kind of case all the time so you don't accidentally break the support sticks ( like we did.)

I purchased this as a fun beach activity. Very easy to put together, visually stunning. The most beautiful and easy to launch kites. We purchased separately 500 feet of line for each and basically we had the best and highest flying kites in town and nobody else compared. Wish the kite bag was suitable for using over again.

This was my first time buying a Kite for my kids, they totally loved it! We had a great time flying these kites.We even took our little nephew and they all have an amazing time.If you are trying to get a kite and don’t know if this one is going to be good, I say GO FOR IT! They really work well!

We took them to the Kite park. Everyone else's kites were flying nicely with zero effort. These kites were a mission to put in the air and even harder to maintain in the air. Material is way to heavey for a Kite. Stay away. Will purchase better quality Kite.
