Attached to my dock with zip ties really easy and looks great.

This flag pole is easy to use and looks very nice. The twist lock mechanism seems to be much better than my old HBF pole; so far it's staying up. It did slip down a little, so I tried to twist it a bit tighter and so far so good. It unlocks and slides down pretty nicely. We have had breezy days and nights here in Northern Nevada, my weather station shows a peak wind speed of 19MPH since I put this up. I am flying a fairly heavy flag as the light duty flags don't last very long here in Northern Nevada; at nearly 5,000 feet in elevation the sun takes a toll pretty quickly, add in some wind and you might get a week or two out of a cheap flag. The flag in this kit is nearly see through and won't last long at all, but I did not buy this for the flag.I replaced my old flag pole as it would no longer allow and movement between the sections. I was hoping the diameter of the pole would be the same as my old one, but it's smaller. The beauty of this kit, is the PVC sleeve provided slipped right inside my old sleeve which is in concrete, so changing or installing a new one would have been a royal pain! There was a little movement between the old sleeve and the new sleeve, so I searched around my garage to find something to tighten everything up. I decided upon a zip tie. I wrapped a zip tie around the sleeve and with a screw driver, worked it into the slight gap; once I couldn't get any more to go in, I trimmed off the excess. Then I used three zip ties between the pole and the new sleeve and there is no longer any movement! In my third photo the zip tie around the new sleeve doesn't show up, but it's filling the gap you see on the right side, in the shadow.

Not worth it

Nice flag pole! Its definitely lightwieght...meaning easy to put up and take down if severe weather is anticipated. I havent notice any section collapsing like some reviewers have had. I do feel that the temperature has something to do with it. If you extend the pole in mid day heat, at night when the temperature falls the metal shrinks and could cause the sections to collapse. I experience the exact opposite, in the mid day heat I have to use 2 strap wrenches to unlock the lower sections. One thing that matters to me is the included US flag is made in CHINA...I will not fly a US flag made in another country...just me and the 24 yrs I served.Another thing to note is I tried to install the flagpole by just burying the sleeve, it lasted about 2 days before the pole started to lean in my central Florida soil. The sleeve is an oddball size, so I used a 3" PVC pipe buried 3 ft in the ground with 80lbs of concrete. I used 2 1/4" bolts installed thru the pipe at the height needed to keep the sleeve at the right height. Then filled in the pipe with sand and 3" of grout to hold the sleeve from shifting. I probably went overboard with my install...but wont have to worry about it again. I also installed a solar light that mounts at the top under the gold colored ball. I definitely reccomend this flagpole set, as I'm very happy with it.

The pole has a good quality, pipes have advertised wall thickness, clips are no rust stainless steel. Locking system works well, Flag seems a little flimsy, but for the price it’s a great choice.
