A tool that actually works and works well.
One of the most difficult things to do -- if you have a spouse that over the years has put up with the mess you created in the house when doing stuff-- is doing significant repair stuff within that house that is fully furnished. Without covering everything within the room with layers of dust. Especially when the main reason your spouse hates when you do that stuff in the first place, is exactly that issue. The buildup of white construction dust everywhere. I recently had to do a plaster wall restoration and repair on a 100 plus year old plaster and lath wall which required the widening of about 20 foot of cracks to a V, securing the wall with plaster washers and injected adhesive and then filling and plastering over the repairs and large areas of the wall with old school patching plaster. Which in the end requires one to coat and sand a large area that took up about 65% of the wall's surface. Basically about 4 to 5 hours of sanding due to the hard surface of the plaster when it dried to smooth the surface and feather the edges so the repair blends perfectly into the rest of the wall. This tool allowed me to do that comfortably by hand and to my total surprise, do so pretty much dust free. And when I state "dust free" I am not saying that for the most part the dust from the work was noticeably reduced. I am actually saying that the work I did with this tool was genuinely about 98% dust free. This thing is as basic as it gets. But when hooked up to a good shop vac, it just point blank works. To the handyman and DIYer types that do things on a budget or do repairs in smaller areas, or painters and woodworkers that spend time doing a lot of flat surface sanding by hand, dollar for dollar this is one tool you need to get and use. It simply makes your job cleaner and healthier. Highly recommend.

Terrific hand sander for making drywall repairs without a huge mess!
This is an amazing tool! When combined with drywall sanding screen mesh sheets I was able to do a terrific job on two different drywall repair projects. You don't need a super powerful vacuum, either. I used it with a Milwaukee Packout vacuum that has a fleece bag installed and in combination with a Milwaukee Compact Debris Separator. Even with that set up, the vacuum was able to collect most of the drywall dust. I had tried a Craftsman vacuum powered sander many years ago, this tool is far better. I highly recommend that you give it a try.

Good, but not essential
This product does an amazing job keeping drywall dust down, no doubt about that. It loses a star because there were really strange issues with getting it to connect to my standard shop vac. There was no way to attach it to the hose. My hose attachments were the exact same size as the hole for this so I had to silicone tape it to the end to get it to work. Even with that. It did a great job. That being said, this isn’t an essential tool. This can be great for an area that can’t be closed/sealed off. But if you are working inside a room with a door, skip it. You’ll have to clean regardless. And while yes, the dust is significantly less with this, the attachment also makes sanding 10x more exhausting. It’s heavy and drags and requires you to sand in specific positions. Maybe it’s just me because I was working within a bathroom with multiple corners. But I stopped using this after the first sand and WOW was it easier and was less exhausting. Again, great product when you’re in an open space. But if you’re in an enclosed space, leave the shop vac running to try and reduce the dust in the air and save your energy for cleaning after

Nice dustless solution.
I was very happy and surprised how well this works. We had to move back into our house before all of the drywall work was complete so I was putting off finishing that work. This attachment was easy to use and totally delivered. It is lightweight and a good size. It can get a little unwieldy at times because of the hose, but I was able to adapt. As long as your vac's filter is clean, it is very powerful and actually sticks to the wall! A good value for what you get and it is virtually dustless. I managed to sand and paint three rooms in two days with just about no dust.

One of my top must have renovation tools!!!
This is amazing. Our house had popcorn ceilings and orange peel texture as thick as a barn is wide. I hated it. I did a skim coat on our living room, dining room and kitchen walls and removed popcorn ceiling and patched without this because money was tight and what is a little clean up? I can tell you, I was sorely mistake. There was no "a little clean up," there was a clean out a blizzard level layer of this all over everything, in every room, covered, boxed up or not without this. The fine dust infiltrated every where. My first skim coat job sucked bc I had poor lighting and no clue what I was doing. It made my OCD self cringe every time I saw my bad sanding job that left marks or divets I missed. And there were a lot. Fast forward 2 years and dreading the idea of so much dust and cleaning and I caved and bought this as I started on my hall and bathroom. It makes it so much easier, because it is SO MUCH CLEANER, that as I have left over mud I am touching up the walls in the other rooms as I go. No need to move furniture out. No need to evacuate hubby or son with allergies and asthma. No need to go crazy. There is VERY minimal dust and it even cuts down on how much wiping off the walls needed before priming. If this item inspires my OCD but drywall and painting hating self to redo walls I just did (albeit terribly) two years ago, to prime and paint again to perfection this time it is worth every cent. I will never so much as patch a wall without this again! My only complaint is that I have no idea how the vent things function or what way they are supposed to twist. There really aren't any decent instructions for it either, but guess what? I DON'T CARE BC THIS IS STILL FANTASTIC AND SAVES YOUR SANITY! As a side note - I have Fibromyalgia. I hurt a lot and I tire easy. Renovating is so daunting for me because there is so much clean up involved. I feel like you have to work in large sections and go at it like marathon unless you want to clean it a million times and double your work. With this, I can work for 5 or 10 minutes even and take a break. The only clean up is rolling away my vac. It is a game changer.

Suction is strong, but too strong????
This sander certainly does suck. It sucks too much. It sucks so much that it can become difficult to move the thing around. I feel like this would benefit from more options to control the level of suction. Even better, add a sponge attachment to give the sander a little bit of play on the wall. Either way, I'm glad I got it because it works great as a hand sander without the suction. I guess it did help cut back on the dust when I was able to use it with the vacuum. I found that it was acceptable after a second coat, however, I wouldn't use it as a finish sander. The suction is so strong that I would end up gouging the mud I was sanding while trying to force the sander across the wall. I may try to fashion a few more holes in the tubing to cut back on the suction a bit, but as it stands it does too good a job at sucking. For the price, I would recommend it to a fellow who was going to embark on a large drywall finishing job. In the end, it did save me some time in clean up when I used it to sand prior to the final coat.

One of the Best Things Since Sliced Bread
Despite a few negative reviews, I couldn't help but wonder if it would really work. I came back so many times, and finally just ordered it. It came fast along with other products I had ordered. First impression was wow, it seemed fairly sturdy and came with those extra fittings to help fit it all together. We have a sears craftsman 20 gal. wet/dry vac. and we were able to fit this on with the adapter. We also were able to use a hose off an old shop vac to make it even longer. These adapters were a life saver. I turned it on and started testing it out on a large area of drywall covered with joint compound that was dry. I was so amazed that I had to show everyone and get them to try it. My husband who had been negative about such a product came around to liking it. I mean, all us girls in the family will never live without it again. We almost want to buy another just in case this one happens to break so to have a backup. I like it that much. I like that as I'm checking the wall, it stays on the wall with suction. It frees my hands up, and I don't have to keep bending down repeatedly to pick it back up. Depending on what your doing the suction can also be adjusted. I didn't think I would actually care or need that function but I did. Once I moved into texturizing the wall it needed to be a bit lighter touch, and by adjusting the suction it made it perfect. The dust level was low, which is important with a little one in our home. We had put off a few projects for that very reason. I will still use caution, and proper airing techniques, but this product makes it a cinch to set up knowing I don't have to hang partitions like on a job site. I totally recommend this product for anyone who has to sand drywall, joint compound or anything like that. Also will be using it to sand a painted wall to degloss it. I think it was worth every cent. Update: I still own this product. It is still in good condition and we are using it for a room remodel/kitchen and family room. I still recommend this product. My son in law bought it when he saw mine and he doesn't regret his purchase either. As we like to say, the greatest gadget since razor blades. I still have no regrets on this purchase. Just wanted to let everyone know, it's holding up just fine for us.

Near dustless, and that's no exaggeration.
When it comes taping and mud, I'm an old fashioned sanding sponge guy and have always been a reluctant consumer of "gimmicky" things which this drywall vac seemed to fit that category. But I have to admit, it worked surprisingly well in minimizing the dust for sanding. Unit comes with two adapters which make it near impossible to have a vac hose that doesn't fit. It also comes with a sheet of precut sanding screen for quick start up out of the box. Note that you should save the original screen to use as a template to cut further pieces. I mean it's not rocket science to cut a piece of sanding screen to fit a sanding block, but the pre-cut piece that comes with the unit has notches in the corner that allow the screen to fold up the side of the unit when you sand into a corner. When hooked up the suction is impressive. With the air flow valves open for max suction, the unit will stick to any surface you place it on so after a bit of sanding you need to stop and shake your arms a bit, just let go of the unit and it will stay on the wall waiting for you to start again. As mentioned earlier, the dust is at a minimal. I know it's always "recommended" to use a dust mask when sanding and I did when I started, but after a while, I took the mask off and never noticed the dust in the air. Bear in mind that it takes considerable effort to sand with this unit. Reaching out and doing ceilings with the weight of not only the hose from the sander but also the shop-vac its hooked up to is a bit taxing. The hose, if not properly slacked, always wants to twist to its relaxed position. If you don't lay out the hoses before you start sanding, it's going to constantly apply torque to the sander. There is also a slight learning curve on where to route the hose depending on the angle your sanding from. Sometimes the hose is hanging free while your sanding for one position and other times it might be slung over your shoulder. The unit should come with a belt clip for the hose so the length of hose you need is always between the clip and your maximum reach. It would also serve in taking some of the weight of the hose off of the sander when reaching those far out spots. All in all the product performed quite well especially in the area of dust minimization. It becomes taxing while using the full suction and the hose is a pain in the a** sometimes but its a useful tool to have, even if you're an old fashioned sanding sponge kinda guy.

For hand sanding or rotary sander to shop vac, it's great
I use this connected as an extension hose to a Titan shop vac, and also used connected to a Bosch hand sander, all hoses stay together and make my home sanding 95 ,% dust free

Great dust control thumbs up for pre final sanding jobs
Good unit to minimise dust (almost eliminate) when taking larger fill areas down. The 150 sanding sheet is pretty aggressive and the 220 is finer, but I found final hand sanding with 240 paper unavoidable for a smooth finish. Excellent tool for smaller sections of high fill when dust is a problem.
