Outstanding resource for any Product Manager
I have only started reading this book and I can tell you that this is without a question an outstanding resource for any Product Manager. It is packed full of templates, scenarios and all kinds of other useful tools to help those of us in the profession. Mr. Haines' insight helps to demystify this often nebulous and inconsistently structured role, and truly lifts the curtain and shows how a well-oiled product management system should run.

Warning: Not very applicable for SaaS or Software product management
I've read the book cover to cover, highlighted important concepts, and studied the book deeply; however, it hardly translates to the Agile Framework of how either software or software as a service is developed today. It seems more relevant to large corporate manufacturing companies. It has many references on how to navigate corporate structures and hierarchies. It is definitely not appropriate for startups or companies that run under an Agile Framework.

My go-to guide...has yet to fail me!
Really new role for me and our company and this has been great for me. I have it handy for reference...and have already used quite a few of the templates, methodology and processes recommended. This is really a great base guide for someone new to the role - and really working to define the standards of the organization within a company.

A Great Reference
This is a great book - it’s dense, but accessible enough to provide immediate assistance, esp. if you’re trying to formalize your ideation/discovery stages.

Great book, good templates for documents and comprehensive in scope for product development. Works well for software development life cycle. Definitely leans towards waterfall development but seems appropriate to add structure to agile/scrum based product development.

classic pm bible
classic bible for pm's! would be even better if it came with link to download online templates since it's a pricey reference book.(many books do now since some people prefer the tangible book to ebook when keeping long term.)

The bible of Product Management
This book is thick. And heavy. It can be intimidating at first, but it contains a wealth of knowledge about Product Management that can't be ignored by anyone in the profession. The topics are very well organised and the topics clearly exposed, and I have found that the best use of it is as a manual (as the title "Desk Reference" implies). I highly recommend this book to both veterans and newcomers of Product Management.

Ottimo testo

A must read, better than a $1300 3-Day course
Mr. Haines covers practically every aspect of being a responsible and professional product manager. As I'm reading the book, I'm realizing exactly what I need to do on a day to day as well as longer term basis. The stories throughout really provide excellent context and have helped me to remember details that I wouldn't have expected from a book that's got desk reference in the title. This is not your average everyday desk reference...this one is readable.--I mean I'm enjoying reading it. When was the last time you enjoyed a desk reference?

Testo fondamentale
E' un compendio di tecniche e strumenti per il PM. Molto ben scritto con esempi, business case e strumenti specifici. Utile per profili junior ma anche per chi ha acquisito esperienza per approfondire concetti e tecniche. Veramente un ottimo acquisto.
