Steve's Real Food Quest Super Premium Freeze Dried Raw Cat Food, Beef Recipe, 10oz

First time I purchased this for my cat. She likes it.

I am working toward making homemade cat food per Karen Becker, DMV (her books available on Amazon), but I still want a variety for treats in between meals. I also have a special needs cat who is more sensitive to grains and fillers. I broke up about a tablespoon or so of the beef nuggets into smaller bite size pieces and put it down for them and Voila! Picky eaters are happy! Fortunately they do drink plenty of water, so I didn't hesitate to put it down dry. They like it so much, I also ordered 2 more flavors, and I'm looking forward to seeing their reaction.

I have 3 cats that absolutely love this food. I had been trying to save money so I was feeding them Friskies but their 💩 has been absolutely gross, so I switched back to freeze dried raw. I slowly transitioned them to Steve’s since it’s a new recipe for them. Now my one thing is the pieces are too hard to crumble, so I soak them in warm water first and then stir it around for some gravy. I love the ingredients, no fillers and all are healthy for cats. No unnecessary weird wheat glutens or corn stuff in it. The only thing I wish besides it being easier to crumble, would be that green tripe was an added ingredient so I wouldn’t have to buy it separately as a topper.I do wish it came in a bigger size than 10 oz because between 3 cats it goes fairly quickly. But the price being only $25 for 10 oz is not bad. Other brands like Stella and Chewy, Instinct, Feline Natural (😍🤌) and Bixbi Rawbble are price competitors and are good to have in rotation for nutrition as well.What I do like about the pellets not being super crumbly, if I am looking for a plus side to that particular aspect of it, is that it’s really easy to just pour into the bowls kind of like kibble and makes feeding really simple. Just pour, add some warm water and stir it so there’s some good old gravy in there, and you’re good to go! I think I’ll be adding the pork and whitefish to our rotation too, I know the WF recipe has GLM in it and I love that.

Love the simple but high quality ingredients. No additives just real food, exactly as I'd expect from Steve's/quest. Great bite sized pieces to use as treats or a meal. Plus cat loves it!

My cats love it, it agrees well with them. Promotes energy & activity & normal defecation. This is very important as cats can tend toward constipation.

Does not hydrate w/i 5 min. as advertised. Gave my cat the runs. Product was hard as a rock. The ingredients seem appropiate but if my cat can't tolerate it, I can't recommend.

While I understand these are freeze dried shrimp, so I expected some smell, it is truly awful and my cats refuse to eat them. Will not purchase again.

I love the convenience of having raw that doesn't have to be refrigerated. They still get the benefit of what they would eat in the wild. Most of all, they love it! People like the convenience of kibble but this is much better for them!
