Abilitations ChewEase Pencil Topper, Clear, Set of 3 - 018676

I love how sturdy these are, first off. My kid has chewed through lots of “sturdy” chew tools. My favorite part is it’s a multi pack, and it’s affordable. They last 4 months of daily chewing typically before one starts getting chewed through. I use a drill press to put a hole through the top, and then string it on the breakaway cords left over from all our previous failed chewlery attempts. These are perfect. We’ve been using them for a year now. I actually always recommend this to any friends who ask about it, I also have given it as a suggestion for students at work when I’m asked what do I use for my own child. We have been trying various oral sensory tools since my daughter was 3.5, she’s now 6 and these are the only product I buy for her because of their durability, and if she looses one it doesn’t break the bank to order replacements.

My grandnephew fidgets and has something his teacher calls "504" I think it was. It's a designation for kids who have problems sitting still when under stress (taking exams in school). Putting these things on his pencil, so he can chew on them instead of getting up and disrupting the other students seems to work very well for him. I'm an old man, and I just chewed the heck out of my pencils. This seems to be a much better solution to the problem. I bought extra ones to send him, and told him to give them to his teacher for any of the other kids who can use them. I don't know how long the last. If he runs out, I'll buy him some more.These are the ones his teacher recommended. I also bought him some fancier ones, that his mother wanted. I think they both work the same way. I doubt his teeth know the difference.

These pencil toppers are almost perfect. They need to be about 2 inches shorter. I just cut off the extra length so they fit the way I want, but the extra is wasted because both ends are open on the cut off piece. They are a very snug fit on a regular pencil, but I don't mind this. It prevents my son from removing them. I tried another brand that had both ends open and had a looser fit, but my son was able to push it down and still chew on the eraser and metal band with that style. Just be aware that once these are on, you will probably not get them off. I will be buying these again.

I got these for my 4 year old to use on his pencils in school as he keeps biting the erasers off. I had to take the metal part off of the pencil in order to slide this in and then we're left with a very long plastic thingy that my son can chew on. It's the only one of these types that the school has not sent back. It's doing its job.

These have been the most amazing chewing toppers for my seven year old with anxiety.. they last a very long time and just long enough to fit in the side of her mouth to be chewed and clear soNot everyone in her class sees it and makes a big deal about it. I love these after buying off Etsy,eBay,and other amazon products these have been the best so far I could find that really holds up and lasts quite a while.

I didn't pay close enough attention to the description when I purchased these. I teach in a high sensory, high needs autistic unit. One of my students has to have an oral chew device attached to him at all times or we become his chew toys. I didn't realize this was a pencil topper and didn't know it had no holes that would enable me to attach it to him. The price is reasonable but I wish it had a hole so that I wasn't killing myself trying to put one in it.If you are purchasing this, be aware this is a pencil topper and not the chew device that Abilitations sells separately.

This pencil topper is perfect for my son, who normally chews his pencils (eraser & all). The design of this topper far exceeded the other pencil topper (different brand) that I purchased at the same time. The closed top prevents saliva from accumulating between the plastic & pencil. The length provided room for the pencil to be sharpened, as needed. The clear color is perfect for my tween, who rather not have a bright colored pencil topper. This pencil topper will be our go-to from now on. We placed an order for 5 more sets!

My student with attention issues loves these. They get dirty quick and are hard to clean but they are strong and durable. I also had to cut them short to be able to get them on to a standard size pencil. Wish they were a little easier in that regard.
