UltraGroove Metal(TM) is a retractable tonneau that makes it easy to attach nearly any Thule(R) or Yakima(R) rack to carry bikes, kayaks, cargo baskets and more. It offers truck owners the metal look with heavy-gauge aluminum panels and a tough, powder-coated, matte-black surface. With or without racks, UltraGroove Metal is a great-looking retractable tonneau that's incredibly easy to use. It opens quickly with just a turn of the lock knob and closes just as easily with a pull on the built-in strap. " The built-in RES(TM) rail expansion system can quickly be outfitted with racks to carry your recreational gear.

Best retractable on the market, specially if you want one for bike racks or kayak racks
I love this bed cover. Install was not too bad. I read reviews about poor instructions but they must have listened and updated because I thought they were fine. Color pictures helped too. I have a 2018 F-150 with 5.5 ft bed. I had to remove the shims on the clamp brackets nearest the tailgate and force the rails to the sides. Once I did that the distance between rails was consistent from front to back and only 1/16” shorter than the spec in the directions. The cover was a little hard to pull at first, but once I put the 303 brand lubricant on the rails it worked like a charm. I like that the cover is a clean look on top without the key hole, handle like the other retractable ones have. I was comparing this to the Retrax XR Pro because I wanted the T slot rails. The Pace Edwards description of the rails is not great on the website. However, I found that the T slot rails are aluminum extrusions on the Ultragroove and it seems robust. I haven’t used them yet. I think the Retrax rails are injection molded plastic and I saw one review where the t bolts were pulling through and yielding the plastic on the Retrax. If there is any deformation when torquing the nuts the torque goes into the deformation instead of bolt stretch so that’s a red flag. The cover hasn’t been through a hard rain yet although I did go through a car wash and was impressed with the lack of water intrusion into the bed. It has drain tubes at front and back of the bed which I think help a lot. I think the Retrax only had drain tubes at front. In conclusion, I’m very happy with my purchase.

Installation instructions were not great. It would have been better to have a video offered to assist in the installation process. Cover isn't very weatherproof. I get way more water infiltration into the bed than I expected. The rail system is ok but not real user friendly.

SOLID and WELL-DESIGNED
I chose this brand ( Pace Edwards ) and model ( metal Ultragroove ) for many reasons... I have a Ford branded drop in bedliner; which required me to modify the gussets in the upright corners closest to the cab. I also had to elongate the bolt holes attaching the ultragroove side rails by 3/16" and trim the stop points underneath by 3/16" with my Dremel tool. Installation was easily accomplished following the supplied instructions after modifications; even working alone. Well built product made in the USA: where I have earned every penny (as an Aerospace Machinist for the last 45 years) and paid every tax for roads to drive my vehicles on and live and breath! I wouldn't recommend any other; if someone ask for my advice on what brand or model to buy for their rig.
