Perfect, just what I was looking for.

Worked better than I expected! I used it on a 2 gang weather proof box and a 12awg extension cord.

Worked good as they should.

I wanted to find a version of this that, as I remembered it, had the spiraled part made of a metal spring kind of material and would fit tight against the electrical cord. But this is all I could find. Having said all that, it seems to be functioning well. I'll have to wait and see how it holds up.

Simple part. I just needed a strain relief to secure the replacement power cord on my 70 year old Shopsmith. The previous relief only lasted 55 years, before deteriorating and making the tool dangerous enough that I just put the tool away for 15 years. While I had to enlarge the hole to accommodate this one, it holds the cable much more securely and looks like it will be solid for the next 70. I’ll update this review in 2094. Stay tuned.

If you look at high quality corded devices, you will notice that they all come with a strain relief where the cord enters the body or a connector to make replacement easier. Repeated sharp bends cause much earlier cord failures. These not only make the cord last longer, but also seal the cord to prevent liquids and small particles from entering the device. Ever open a device only to find it is full of dust or water? These prevent contaminants from entering around the cord. I did find that the 1/2 NPT version does not work with 12 gauge power cords, but the 3/4 NPT version works quite well. Being plastic means it is weaker than steel, but they are also less expensive and less likely to corrode. Everything has tradeoffs, under most conditions these win big time.

They function as promised, just like the brand's black versions. Good value when you need basic cable retention and something a little more protective around the entry than just a gland, but also don't need steel mesh. Unfortunately they're not white. "Matte Platinum" would be a decent approximation. It's not a dark or medium gray, but if you're trying to match it up against a standard "white", it will definitely look gray in comparison.

Was thinking no one was making these anymore. These are made so well, they should last for years. That review was done months ago, we have used these cables several times, in some bad places. These have stayed on and still working like new. Will buy these again if I even need more. Thank who ever made these.
