TimexEasy Reader Men's 38mm Watch

Brought this watch for my 80 years old Dad he likes it very much. He has age-related macular degeneration and generally finds it difficult to read dial. But on this Timex watch the numbers being larger, the white background and the built in glow light makes it much easier to read. It looks good too, he wears it all the time. I’m very happy with purchase.

Excellent watch, clear and legible. The Indiglo feature is surprisingly useful (something I didn't know I needed until I had it), and the date-window is another welcome touch. Timex watches have a reputation for ticking quite loudly - this is no exception - and while that may put off some, it's an aspect I personally don't mind at all. Overall, this watch serves nicely as a flexible casual watch, and offers great value at a very reasonable price. I would recommend.

Great value. Strap decent and comfy. Backlight gives good viewing at night. Some people have mentioned the loud ticking which to be honest is louder than some watches but for me is not an issue.

Easy to read, works well and Timex watches have a good longevity. Bracelet is reliable. Nothing fancy about this watch but it's good value. Strange that the packaging is as intractably tight as it could possibly be with industrial strength lashings in and out, to the point where you have to battle hard to liberate the watch for service. This is absurd, unnecessary.

Bought as a gift for an avid non watch wearer ! Sagittarians don't like anybody or anything managing their time . Which is sometimes inconvenient the fact that this watch is really easy to read makes its usefulness outweigh his misgivings. I was really impressed when I opened the box so much so that I almost kept it for myself. I wear glasses with 3 times magnification and I can see this watch easily without them. Haven't given any stars for water resistance because I don't know not important for us.

UPDATED A FEW MONTHS LATER: I really tried to get on with this watch because it does look good. But I have ultimately abandoned it and bought another watch because it ticks so loudly. I have to take it off when I'm working because people complain about the ticking, and I have to put it in another room overnight because of the noise. My original review follows.THE BIGGEST NEGATIVE is that the strap has no fine adjustment. You can take out individual links but if you're unlucky like me, this will give you a choice between a bit too tight or a lot too loose. After weeks of this I threw in the towel and spent £15 on a leather strap (pictured – this did NOT come with the watch). More expensive watches like my previous one have the facility to add or remove large links AND a fine adjustment on the clasp.I will add that I only discovered all this after spending an hour researching how to adjust the bracelet. Frustratingly, the watch came with NO INSTRUCTIONS so I had to use my own initiative and search Timex website (screenshot attached!) and YouTube for a video on Timex Watch Bracelet Adjustment. I used a bradawl (but think you could possibly use a drawing pin instead) and it took me about an hour (not a good start!) but future adjustments only took a few minutes after I got the hang. Timex PLEASE include instructions in future this is really annoying!!!!The watch keeps time well, and the numbers are easy to read. But the date (one of the features that made me choose this watch) is so small that I can barely read it, also it doesn’t wind on properly from one number to the next until part way until mid morning each day, despite all the twiddling I have tried. So the date feature is fairly useless for me.The light facility is really useful - by pressing the button in you can read the time even in the dark - great in e.g. theatres or walking home in the dark.The watch has a fairly loud tick which becomes annoying when it is close to your ear (and you can just about hear it at arm’s length) or if like me you work in a quiet room.All in all a handsome watch with great easy-read numbers but the strap and date facility let it down.

Watch is very easy to read... very clear. Lights up if needed. Seems to be very well made.

Easy to read dial in low light.

I have always liked Timex "indiglo" watches, but at 76 yrs. old, I now needed to add a large, bold watchface. This product was exactly as required by both my needs and my wants. For "icing on the cake," it was SUPER easy to remove expansion band links to reduce the size to fit my smaller sized wrist, and I'm quite mechanically challenged. But without the use of tools or eagle eyesight, the links came off easily. I can't think of anyway that this Timex watch didn't live up to its billing! Oh, and did I mention its inexpensive price tag?
