Will not adjust to a smaller fit. Not comfortable too big for a woman’s head

I have dozens and dozens of hats and this is hands down the worst fitting, most uncomfortable, poorly designed, and ugly hat that I have ever owned in my 58 years! Terribly disappointed. If it wasnt such a huge hassle to return I would immediately. Any suggestions?
