Sociology: A Down-to-Earth Approach (11th Edition)

I rented this textbook for one of my college classes at PPCC. My college has been requiring students to buy the dreaded custom editions which costs more and are harder to sell. I was told by my professor that only one chapter is missing from this older edition which was fine by me. Ended up asking a friend in class to scan the pages from their textbook. If you are looking to save money on textbooks and don't want to get custom editions, this is a good pick. I enjoyed using this textbook in class I learned a lot of new information that I did not know about. Good diagrams and illustrations to get the point across.

Okay, I probably can't say the words I want to but I CANNOT believe I found this book! I regretted turning back in my book for my college class and of course these books cost more than students can afford. I learned so much from this book and it opened my eyes up and showed me examples of things I was unaware of. I love sociology, but I'm so glad this seller had this to sell - and the price. I am so excited, only book I would keep from school. Thank you seller!!!!!!

The book was sent in good condition, but I can't say the content is just a repeat of my Psychology book. This one is not a keeper for me personally, but it helped me get a good grade in Sociology class.

I purchased used, I expected the conditions to be a little better than what I received it, but it was not bad. About the book itself, I have no read any other Intro to Sociology books, so I have not what to compare it to; but other than that the book is great, I really recommend if you are looking for an introductory book.

This book does really provide a down to earth approach about Sociology. It points out over and over that society in different places of the world are very different from the US culture. It shows that one culture is not better than another as some cultures that US citizens would find offensive is commonly accepted in other parts of the world.

The book arrived as described - no surprises. There were no problems in between. The shipment was the fastest I could have ever hoped for. Highly recommended.

An easy, but time consuming read. Material is relevant and easy to understand. The author writes in an approachable, friendly manner, using common language and real world examples.

Used it in school. Loved it. Bought it again. Henslin is a great starter book for Sociology. The letters written to him from those who read him say all there is to say.His ethnography introduction to each chapter is very humanizing, and turns the author into "our friend."
