The moon is eerily realistic and brightly lit but the solar system needs brighter lights for the sun and quieter gears for the rotating planets (which rotate around the sun at two different speeds). This plus lit planets (or a sun than also lights the side of the planets would be worth another $20). Still, my 5-year old loves it.

Not only is it a great night lite but it sparks my children's imagination as they drift into sleep. The next morning is full of questions and a desire to read more about our world. BTW it does accept an ac adapter to power it if you don't want to use batteries. I picked one up at Radio Shack. Wish I had one of these as a kid. We had just the glow in the dark stickers in our days.
