Perfect for Persian learners and students!The book has an interesting layout, with English translation of the text on the left, and with the Persian text on the right. If you ever thought about reading Saadi’s books but was turned off or intimidated by the old Persian textbooks, not so with the new edition!This edition of Gulistan is very useful for Persian students who want to learn more about Persian language, culture and history. The glossary at the end of the book is very helpful even for native Persian speakers.I definitely recommend this book if you are starting out with Persian literature because it is likely to leave you wanting to read more of Persian old books!

Easy read. Nice to connect with an author born in Shiraz in 1175, who journeyed to Baghdad to study, went on a pilgrimage to Mecca, the first of many travels over a a period of 30 years in Europe, India, the Near and Middle East including Syria and Turkey. After traveling, he settled in Persia and gained the advantages of the post of Poet-Laureate, perhaps composing the Bustan at the age of 82.

Generally it is well translated.However after each second pages two or three Farsi verses not translated into English.It leaves a gap in understanding.It has not been proof read.
