A warming story
Authors are often thought of as god-like storytellers, but this author took an interesting narrative where two main characters are communicating through different times and the one from the advanced period acts as an elusive prophet who may predict the future of the one from the past until their secret revealed. Such a faith-based metaphoric tale makes this story unique. But for an abusive man, the story filled with innocent main characters who trust their intuition and their deep faith. Jack and Jewel live a century apart, yet yearning for a purpose for their lives.I like the author’s writing style, though it felt that, in certain sections, dealing with three different periods slows the progress of the plotline. Yet, a story with apparent different timelines, which seem to happen concurrently. Timeless moments indeed. Brilliant.

What a ride!
This has to be a personal record for sleep lost over a book. I stayed up till 8AM and got 60% through and had to stop only because my Kindle was dying, and I couldn't keep my eyes open. After a nap, I dived back in and finished. And let me tell ya, what a ride. I have so many thoughts so this will be longish and contain hidden spoilers.I bought this a couple of years back and finally decided to give it a go. I wasn't 100% sure what direction this was going to take but right from chapter one I was sold. It instantly reminded me of the movie From Time to Time the way the past and present blended and characters were able to communicate across the years. I love this kind of plot and find it so fascinating. I'll talk more about that later.I'll go ahead and touch on the characters first. There were several and each unique. Let's get our villainous sicko out of the way first. Hunsdon. He was just... the definition of evil and a creeper and there's not one good thing I have to say about him. Jewel was a timid and sweet MC who endured so much. Her beauty was constantly referred to, to the point that it was redundant. Jack was interesting enough. Determined, passionate, and kind. I didn't like Sam at first. I thought she was a needless distraction because I wanted to focus more on the time-travel stuff. Turns out I was wrong, lol. I liked her enthusiasm for history and all-things vintage. There is a ton of other characters but if I were to go through all of them, we'd be here a while. My favorites had to be Jeff, Cindy and their kids. There were a number of Biblical references, moments of prayer, and acknowledging God. I read other reviews that stated this book was on the preachy side. While I do agree that there were a lot of Christian themes and such, as far as I can recall, the Gospel was never shared. There were no mentions of salvation or repentance. So, while there were a ton of references and characters crying out in prayer or declaring their trust in Him, it never went as far as to preach salvation. Actually...I have an issue with Jewel's dad.... (view spoiler)As for the time-travel/duel timeline thing, it really worked at first and kept the story moving at a good pace, but later things got confusing. (view spoiler) The communication between Jewel and Jack was really neat and intriguing! There were parts that gave me literal chills. The romance wasn't bad. Some kissing is about it.And the ending...the big reveal...was not what I was hoping for. (view spoiler)Overall: I could not put this down and was thoroughly invested. While it had its moments of confusion and unsatisfactory conclusions, I did enjoy this. If you like historical mysteries, unsolved murders, time travel and dual timelines, you'll probably like this.CONTENT WARNING: Domestic abuse! Early on there's a scene that might be uncomfortable for young or sensitive readers. Beatings, drugging and murder. No language.

Romance and time travel
This was a great book to read. I was captivated by the strength and tenacity women have when caught between a rock and a hard place. The romance of more than one couple, the things that are impossible are in actuality real. Although hard to fathom, science can't prove it doesn't exist. Five shiny gold stars.

3.5 STARS
I received a free copy of "Timeless Moments" through the Kindle Scout programme. It’s a “5 Star” story/concept, and the intricacies of the time-travel theme are well thought through and played out. The writing style is very simple, and there are also a number of typos scattered throughout the book, but this was not irritating enough to detract from the story. For me, though, there were three issues, each of which pulled it down by “half a star”.First issue: The novel is written from alternating perspectives but the male characters, (who reveal their inner thoughts and feelings), all sound female. There must be many readers who will warm to this, thinking that these men sound great – but they don’t sound like men; they sound like women. Similarly, the two romances (which unfurl around the time-travel narrative), sound fictional. This may appeal to readers who want escapist romance; but unrealistic men and unbelievable romance? That has to take “Timeless Moments” down to 4.5 Stars.Second issue: A good chunk of the story is set in the past (1917), but although the author uses some archaic words and slang, the characters do not use the vernacular of the period. They sound contemporary to 2016. Many readers may not object to this (or notice it?) but it is sure to jar with anyone who enjoys historical fiction, or reads fiction written in that era. That brings the novel down to 4 Stars.Third issue: Many (most?) of the characters are depicted as Christian but even those who live in 1917 seem to have a “coin-slot” approach to their faith which is very “late twentieth century” and also very particular to a certain kind of church. Apart from leading them to remain chaste outside of marriage, and apart from the odd “inner prompt”, their Christianity does not seem to inform their behaviour – except when they want something or are in trouble; then they ask for divine help. Theology aside, though, and more importantly to the novel, the “Christianity” could be removed from the story with zero impact to the tale. This leads one to suspect that the author is more interested in sharing her views than in teasing out the implications of the characters’ faith. That takes another half Star away.British readers may find the Christianity depicted mawkish, (and some may not get beyond the prologue), while others will find the sentiments expressed in the Epilogue leave them lost for words. This should not stop British readers engaging with the book, though; it’s a good story; a 5 Star story; but the three issues mentioned make it a 3.5 Star novel. Reviews, however, don’t allow half stars - so as it’s certainly better than a 3 Star book, 4 it is….

Keeps the reader turning pages
A mix of time-travel and historical fiction with a bit of romance thrown in the mix, this book grabbed me from the very first page and I simply could not put it down again until I had finished it. A great debut.I received a copy of this book by nomintating it through Kindle Scout, with many thanks. I chose to read it and give a voluntary and unbiased review.

Well Worth Reading
I received a copy of Timeless Moments through nominating this book for the Kindle Scout campaign. The unfolding mystery and relationships kept me intrigued right to the end. The characters are variable and memorable. If Michelle Kidd set out to write a book that would keep her readers turning the pages, she succeeded.

Vividly descriptive yet plot-driven
Timeless Moments succeeds as both a plot-driven time travel narrative, and also an elegantly written drama in which the characters' motives, settings and morality are all played out with a keen eye for detail. It's a great story, which unfolds with good pacing, and is told extremely confidently. Great debut, and I look forward to more.

Time Travel 1917 --1967 -- 2014
Three plots, three periods, three separate fates — or are they? Several mysteries surround Jack, Jewel, Jane Doe (Janie), and Hunsdon. Letters can help or betray the writers and settle the doom or rescue of one protagonist. There are secrets to unveil and pain to suffer for every character in this time travel cosmos, which is our normal world in three epochs. For me, it was somewhat difficult to recognize the various periods. There were no distinct features to latch onto. In my opinion, it would have helped to be confronted with more historical detail, but I recognise that there is a difficulty in fitting in much of this in a book that concentrates on the inner qualities and the circumstances pertaining to each character. Alternatively, one might have added more details regarding clothing or speech. That aside, Timeless Moments is an absorbing read, with clear-cut characters and a fantasy-driven story.
